You need to figure out how to make the LCD readout say "bLU" instead of "bLUE". Or just cover the E with electrical tape for now.

I have a mini Lloyds boombox with a missing speaker that would blow the DJ Tech out of the water.....

I will be doing a side by side blast off soon to see.

Things I love about this DJ box:
It has square corners and looks like a old school boombox
Integrated BT that has such clean sound.
Real warm sound and bass you can feel.
Knobs and sliders galore!
Inputs of every type.
Metal trims and grills, awesome.
Red color POPs clean and classy.
Rechargeable.

Things I dislike:
Metal handle not thick enough steel.
External power cord BRICK.
Internal antenna works decent but could benefit from an external telescopic.
Face mounted screws to hold plastic front to wood case.

I will make a beefy handle. Change phillips face screws to stainless button-head. Maybe mount telescopic antenna. Will eventually install bigger battery.

It is a solid 9.5 of 10 in sound and looks. The features are cool. This is a grail status BT device you can use everyday.

That's awesome, can you believe the build on it? It's solid. I might be able to scan the manual at work on the copier if I can figure out how to get it to email me the results. Excited to see what you come up with for the screws.

Still on the hunt for a better set of feet, I'm thinking one of these sets from an old tape deck could work. The gap between the box and the feet are from plastic posts, if I actually used them they'd sit flush.

And you guys are right about these batteries. The one in my radio will never light up the top yellow 'full charge' light unless the charger is hooked up. It doesn't hold a charge on the dark green light for more than 15 minutes after unplugging it.

I emailed rock and soul to see if they would cover the cost of the $25 battery and they did! Really awesome company to work with. Real people, real customer service, and quick to reply. If I ever needed more equipment from them, I would not hesitate.

Now on to order the battery!

I like the idea about stainless hex screws. Problem is they screw into small pieces of wood that might need to be beefed up.

The handle could be made safer by installing a second set of screws an inch or two up from the existing ones. It would lose its ability to rotate, but I don't care about that.

And how about Sanyo M9998 or Fisher PH492 feet?

I'd go with the second set, to protect the plastic case more

But how about allen heads? To match the speaker trim.

I couldn't find any allen head low profile wood/metal thread screws to match the speaker ring screws local.
