Did this just get price jacked for the Founder's Edition to $749 up from $649?
Also, the founder edition isn't just a $99 upgrade for those of us that signed up for the VIP $549 that held a spot for $2 prelaunch?
Sounds like they are making this more confusing than anything for a few extra $$...... I'm not going to pay another $200 for a strap and a limited edition tag.....

I find that the mail sounds different to what they said earlier, too. Maybe it is aimed at the second prelaunch / kickstarter wave who pay / paid the $10 on prelaunch? It is the first time the Founders Edition is officially announced outside the $2-prelaunch-crew (VIPs) if I am not mistaken. Right now they are trying to figure out how to further communicate this matter without causing more confusion so there is no official statement at the moment.
And if it was like that, who cares? They wrote that they got offered $5000 off the bat for the 1/777 numbered machine. Why shouldn't they be allowed to prosper from their own creation? There is so much hype for this (which i good for the product). But it gets a bit ridiculous. A lot of entitlement in the WhatsApp group why the $2 crew should have advantage over ALL other buyers, how bumpboxx can't jack up prices etc. I won't pay more than necessary anyways because I want to drag that machine around.
What made me really sad was that earlier bumpboxx asked for ideas what to do with the highly collectible numbered models 1/777 and 777/777 of each color. They offered to auction them off for charity and asked for ideas. In 48 responses, only two picked up on the charity idea, most others are about how "WE, THE VIP" are the only ones who deserve those, how they would feel betrayed, first come, first served and so on.
It's a very selfish world we live in. It wasn't always like that.

All Founders Editions must be $200 extra. To calm the waves they are offering to add accessories worth of $200+. They created a poll where people can vote. When there are 777 Founders Editions for three colours then there are 2.331 limited editions in total. Depending on how many VIPs will buy them, the rest goes to the second wave.
I'm with you dubout. Some people in the WhatsApp group seem wound so tight about the price. I was part of the "Prelaunch" signup, before it went to Kickstarter. I paid $10 to secure my place with a quoted price of $599. Seems like a great deal to me. For those that paid $2 and are getting $549 really have nothing to complain about, even if they have to pay $749 for the Founders Edition (instead of $649). Bumpboxx is going to make plenty on the BB-777 so to think they are trying to boost profits off of the Founder's Edition is ridiculous. Like you said, they sound open to donating some units to charity, and I hope they do. Maybe donate some to some Boys & Girls clubs, dance groups, or villages in some less fortunate countries. The gift of music gives back tenfold!
I'm not on the chat to see all the complaining behind the scenes. I'm just confused as to why there are multiple levels of "being first" and different options that are for some but not others..... I am more than happy with our launch price, it is attainable and very fair. I don't understand how a price is leaked out that for another $100 we can get a founders addition, and now 'SUPRISE!' it's $200 extra. I don't know where that original price was posted or shared with the group, but if they said it, they should honor it.

I also think the early bird price of $549 and even $649 is fair. People spend that money on mediocre soundbars nowadays and this is a one of a kind product, at least for now.
They said this pretty early in the WhatsApp group.
I had the feeling the Founders Edition should be +$100 in general to all buyers. A bumpboxx person mentioned it in the group and the price was out there. But after all this hype over the Founders Edition I am pretty sure bumpboxx realised that they made it too cheap. So they added $100 on top. Then they tried to keep their word to the $2 backers but in the process it turned out that technical limitations on kickstarter prevent them from offering the Founders Edition to different groups for different prices. At least that's what they said.
So it's +$200 for all now but the $2 backers get a bonus goodies pack worth $200+ on top as 'compensation' for them messing this up. They need the favour from the early buyers to create more hype on social media and the mood was about to change. The finacial loss for offering it for only +$100 compared to a $200+ goodie package should be about the same on their end. So somehow they are honoring their word or at least try to.
I don't know how big that WhatsApp group is. One poll had about 88 participants. Not all $2 backers are in that group – like you blu_fuz – and not everybody took part in that poll. But let's say there are a couple of hundered+ people they wanted to feel special and talk good about the product. Not everybody is going to get a Founders Edition so again, the finacial loss should be manageable if you think about it as marketing costs.

Yeah $600 is peanuts considering what this thing can do, and the fact that it's styled the way it is with injection molding costs and all that.
I didn't join the WhatsApp group because the bigger the group, the bigger the risk that my number gets leaked to pyramid schemers and cryptocurrency "coaches". Seems like every week I get added to some fake group that I have to delete and block.

The radio kick start was to be 10 and ended up being 1030. It happens. I went it and doesn’t specially give me the option to pick the actual 2 colors I want for the 547 price I joined kickstarter for. It now offers to select 1 (without) actual color choice selection. Want to add another it says, now addition one costs 649. I don’t want the founders selection. The initial kickstarter was color choices at 547 or 549. Whatever it was. Looks like nothing for me then

Read the description, the $547 option says ‚Color selection will be made in the post-campaign survey.‘
Also there is two links in the VIP mail giving you the option to buy 1 or 2 boxes.
With so many options and technical limitations it is easy to get confused but I see the honest effort to make everybody happy.

Guess I over looked that as the delayed start, the we can’t find your email address to the sign up again and confirmation email to the fine print of shipping buyers responsibility. I was prepared at 10, not 1030 as I had work duties to tend to. I gave it the 10 minute effort. Another chance may happen.
