Nah...I saw your Blinged out E9 and realized I never posted pics of my boxes So I pulled one of them out for a shot. You're getting alot of love on Aiwa's facebook page. I think Aiwa's sales just increased. Lol

LOL, maybe Joe will send me a 2nd complimentary FREE Exos-9 for the sales boost! Haha.... joking aside, it was a fun little project to give it some bling. ;-)

Hey guys, it's been a while, here's an Aiwa Touch concept I started last January and just got around to completing recently, very similar in design to the Exos-9 with a little more old school flavor.

Heyyyyyy Retroooo....awesome to hear from you! That Aiwa is the sh*t! Is that center speaker active or passive? Give the details and features it would have..usb?Can you please post the beginning sketches too? Those were cool too. Also love your sharp concept, if you could post it. Reli, no paper under the wheelie. But if the Aiwas were on top. I would put a blanket :)

It's an Android powered boombox running on a rasberry pi logic board supporting usb, wifi, and lossles audio. The lower compartment is acoustically sealed with two 5.5" coaxial woofers and and 8" weighted passive radiator. Had to keep the design very simple this time around and as realistic as possible. Here are the preliminary sketches, I have tonnes of these lying around, just need to execute them.

I haven't heard the Awia Exos-9, but he claims the jvc pc-x100 sounds better, saying the Awia sounds "harsh and grating at any level". I've heard the jvc and my Panasonic rx-dt680 trounces the Jvc. Every review on these forums, on amazon, YouTube all say this Awia is no joke, and yet Steve at CNN says the jvc is better. Is Steve the joke, like Im thinking he is? If any of u have a jvc pc-x100 and an Awia exos-9, which one sounds better? I'm more inclined to believe this forum than Steve. Thank you.

Nice...I like it!

A side by side test of a Aiwa Exos-9 and an RX-DT680 would be a very interesting comparison. I've been rocking my 2 680s all weekend and I'm still amazed by the power and depth of the bass and the sky high, clear highs!!

James.... :-)

Absolute BS, I had JVC 100 series and they have good bass, but the Awia will eat it for breakfast hands down.

I have never heard a JVC PC X100, but if it sounds better than the Aiwa E9, then I want one! Hearing the E9 is believing. It simply pumps out the bass.

I had an X100, it is a later model with a separate subwoofer and for what it is, it's respectable. Certainly more bass than the classic blasters, but it is nowhere near the Aiwa. It's not even in the same solar system.
