I think the fact that you 'had' an X100 says it all!Lasonic TRC-920 said:I had an X100, it is a later model with a separate subwoofer and for what it is, it's respectable. Certainly more bass than the classic blasters, but it is nowhere near the Aiwa. It's not even in the same solar system.

Testing last weekend, it's about 4 hours and battery lasts (full throttle volume).

hardmen...you know the cars you hear with the big BASS in the trunk from blocks away...this box is that...just portable. My whole house shakes when i have it on...it can vibrate a glass of water in front of the woofers...the guy that designed this box worked in a custom car audio shop, so it has been professionally built...it's hard to listen to any of my vintage 80's boxes after listening to this one...they all sound horrible now in comparisonhardmen said:You can play that behemoth in any place... ...but not really "carry" em' for thah specific place that you want...
A little bit "black", but I'm curious to see and hear an outdoors video.
My two wooden custom made ones, use modern 12v digital amps and the final weight it's about 12kilos (26Lb).
Cheers.

Maybe the reason to Aiwa produces big bass in a small and lighted package, it's they use an 22v Li Ion battery pack.
Cheers.
Now THAT is a BOOOMBOX!hardmen said:You can play that behemoth in any place... ...but not really "carry" em' for thah specific place that you want...

Some friends here built a BIIIGG custom one, they works on an amplifier now!

You're right Steve, I'm a old school guy and have been reluctant (if not a vocal opponent) of the new stuff. But the guys at Aiwa delivered 100% on sound quality. Thankfully you brought some of that vintage love to the modern design.SLO said:Gordie, Where the hell you been! That box is a MONSTER, I'd love to hear it rock the house.
I took my Aiwa E9 to our last mini meet, and although its not everyones cup of tea as far as looks go, and its "new", I dont think anyone was dissapointed when I gave em all a little demo of the Aiwa. There was that look of "WOAH" on everyone's faces. Like Howie said, the C100's power and loudness is 2nd to none, but the Aiwa E9's bass is also 2nd to none! Its impressive sound from a small package![]()
