Found a nice late 1970's tonka pickup today as well as picked a pile of trash at the curb and found
a vintage 1970's B/A outboard motor oil jug and a sealed oil filter.

That's a rare find by any definition of the word, but to come across one that's been saved from the tip; well that's amazing.
Well done, wishing you luck with finding the parts.

Sadly, that Beatles cassette is a snide, the clue's on the label, but the outer sleeve is a passable stab at a real Beatles album of the later part of their career. Every single release from every market where the band's music was sold - nigh on everywhere then - is available on the likes of kickass.so and even on there, I couldn't find one of the French language ones that's a match.

Main thing is that you like its content though. What songs are on there?

What do you mean ? It is a bootleg recording ? It has the Atlantic records on both label and sleeve !

OK, so are you saying that a counterfeit artist is going to leave the logo off so that you know it's not real? And while they're at it, they're going to print a random, yet unconnected record label name on the cassette shell but leave the "C60" legend visible? Snide, deffo..
Probably an amateur compilation but if we knew what songs were on there, then we'd know whether it's a straight rip from a recognised album.
Then there's the fact that the label would have to be Capitol, Apple or finally; Polydor and looking at the faces I reckon they're from about 1967/68 so most likely Apple or Capitol if it's a North American recording. So what songs are on there?

Various compilations were around on the MFP label in the mid to late '70s containing monaural versions of original tunes that were split electronically to put the vocals onto one channel and the instruments on the other, but I can find no suggestion that the Atlantic label belongs anywhere near a Beatles LP.

Have a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles :-)

Wow! VERY interesting stuff, Robb. The track lists are very close - but with some differences - compared to those on records 1 and 2 of the compilation that came out on Apple in a red gatefold sleeve and covers the single releases of the period from Please please me to Revolver, but this tape isn't on any western discography so one thing's for sure; even though I'm still feeling that the tape itself isn't an original, the sleeve matches that one in the link you posted and what you have there at least has some provenance though Atlantic never had the distribution rights anywhere so the original to this could be a licenced compilation - like the MFP ones I mentioned earlier - and as such seems pretty rare, though the undisguised C60 does let it down slightly, unless that turns out to be original too, which is doubtful, but I'd love to be proved wrong 'cos I've been Beatles mad (OK, like half the world's population then..) since Mother listened to them from the very beginning and it must have been catching. lol.

Even so, it's great that you have something so uncommon, it would be well worth asking more at one of the many fora that cater for those with an interest in the Beatles and that's a lot of people with a lot of knowledge to draw from.
You get some excellent finds but that one slightly aged cassette tape, whether the tape itself is the real deal or a later replacement, has to be one of your most interesting objects yet!

Don't get me wrong, I like the mint Tonkas and the bargain radios but this little cassette has me really fired up! :hooray:
