Deal of the century Joe. If not the century, at least deal of the decade, and if not that, at the darn minimum, deal of the year!

Congrats.

I don't know about spending $400 on one of these, but DAMN are they sweet.

I turned it up to about 1/2 volume with my sony mp3 player hooked up and the speakers were barely moving but really get some slamming bass from this. I can't describe it, but it is a high-fi feeling setup that puts the beat right into your FEET! :breakdance:

I agree, Joe. I haven't heard the 2-speaker version, but the 3-speaker version is insanely good quality.

Hey blu fuz, that's a heckuva score you got there!

Just a thought about that power supply; I would definitely seek out a PSU that is spec'd properly to that boombox, here's why:

If that PSU is DC (direct current); the current rating (in amps) can be equal or even higher than spec'd, because DC powered devices only pull what current they need and nothing more. In AC (alternating current), the current is always constant so that's where you need to watch ratings. Since you are using one that is spec'd lower than what your boombox requires; the box isn't quite getting the juice it needs and you're also straining the power supply. In all probability it will work fine, but it is bordering on unsafe to run it like that too long, especially if you crank it up; because that's where the higher current draw will kick in. :-)

Anybody who knows more about this than I do, please feel free to correct me! :-D

There are some 18v 1.7a laptop power supplies on ebay for really cheap, should I get one of those to use? That has to be close enough to the 18v 1.666a the box requires :hmmm:

After already working on one of these TDK boxes, I feel confident that I can get this other one going that I just won on ebay  . When I open this one I will be sure to take pictures to add to my "how to get into a TDK boombox" thread  .
