OMFG! Epic! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

So many grails and it looks like 5 sausages actually made it!

That was awesome! Very sad I wasn't there!

Did you use the transmitter‽

BTW, what is Zonk and why isn't one enough?

Go!

Looks like a BLAST guys, I am so jealous, us Aussies need to step up!

There's some Brisbane boys getting together in September, we'll try and make it as EPIC as this Cali meet.

Once I get home and digest this all, I will have to leave some comments regarding some of the radio's I was lucky enough to see, hear, touch, trade and OWN :w00t:

I'd say, if there was any downer, it was that Norm brought out that MASSIVE National too early, after that all my radio's sounded like crap

No one wants to follow that beast!

Great day guys! Just amazing....Oh and btw, Mrs Lasonic TRC-920 shared my radio count! But she's going to have to start her own collection for next year....She REALLY liked the Raccoon Kaboom! It may be on her list :-D

Wow! Wow! Wow! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Absolutely fantastic! It is great to see some West Coast "pillars" of Boomboxery all in one location enjoying, what else, boomboxes. :-D I didn't see any of Mel's M70s out there though. Are they kept in the underground bunker?

Who owns the Uher that spanked the Rotel? Can we get some more info on that one? Did anybody take an official list of brands and models?

Wow, still chewing on all that phat!

What box was getting the ER treatment, and did the patient survive‽ :hmmm:

Didn't see a 550; guess that, the Amsen, and some of my graffiti boxes would've been welcome additions. Afraid they would've been outclassed/outblasted by the rest though. :'-(

Way to go Melvin; you and the boys put the West Coast on the map in a giant way!

Gotta make a SoCal meet happen real soon now.

Go!

Nice work, is the case color of the A5 original?

On a side note, there is also a model of the Sony Heli (FH-7), don't know if it actually has speakers like the 900 model

Looks like you guys had a BLAST (literally and figuratively)! I bet a couple of neighbors were P.O.'ed.
I'd love to see a NYNEX Meet but I don't know if there are enough members. I know NY has a few, but I'm not sure about New England (buncha snobs up here  ).
Maybe someday I'll make it to the Sunshine Mix, as I do spend a good chunk of time in FL (my unofficial home).
Glad you guys had an awesome time.

...We ran out of table space there were soo many boomboxes. I had six 8 foot tables and we squeezed about 64 boomboxes on them....and another 6 on the floor. The great thing is we had no doubles!! I left the M70's up in my boom-room because we ran out of table space, but my M71 was there to represent. The Uher belongs to Hans (Reli) and I must say that thing cranks with excellent sound. I wasn't sure the Sony could handle it because I never take it outside and blast it, but the Sony FH 207 reassured my belief that it is the most powerful and best sounding boomer I have ever heard.

Another great thing about having this event outside is you find out which boomboxes are better suited for indoor use. Some of these boomers surprised me as they do not carry there sound very well outdoors, I was also pleasantly surprised by others like Chris's little Aiwa TPR 820...that little sucker has power and sound to rival much larger boomboxes....gotta get me one of those.

All in all we had a fantastic time...had some fun boombox battles, the Crown 850 battled the M71...The 850 has deeper bass but the M71 absolutely crushes it on power and clarity. The Uher took out the Rotel but got spanked by the Sony. Norm's powerhouse A5 is easily the most powerful battery operated boombox but can it take down the mighty Sony??? We will have to find out next year but that will be a great battle.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all. I'm speechless on it all. Never in history was there an electronics store that you could walk into and compare this many products. No salesman to say "Excuse me young man, please don't handle the merchandise". It was full on hands on, every dream box to play with!

I also want to say, When I first saw the Sun Shine Mix pics years ago it actually bummed me out because I knew I was too far away to ever be involved. A few years ago I spoke with Dave/ Sinister about trying to do this, but we could never come up with a location. I spoke with Norm at the beginning of this year and when Melvin said he could host this my heart hit a new high in anticipation.

Now that we have done it....I can't wait to do it again.

I'm glad the East Coast guys feel we did them proud. I really think we did. Can you imagine the next time when Miles, Peter and Adam get on board :w00t:

Just mind bending...

I have a 7 hour drive home, so I need to hit the highway....

I also have a few new radio's to play with....MORE ON THAT DEAL :-D I can't wait

OH as for the radio getting surgery....That was the LOUDER BLASTER project that Norm has been repairing / correcting / reviving. More to come on that too! :-D

Thanks again to Melvin, Don, Hans, Norm and Mrs 920 for being such a great understanding wife and letting me come out and play :smooch:

Chris.......It's always so cool when your significant other is understanding of your Boombox disease. And when they even get involved with helping out its even a much greater feeling...

I use to walk on eggshell's with my ex-wife. But since Jeannie and I have been together I don't have to sneak around buying, cleaning or repairing my boxes... Heck Jeannie helps me out when I need it, and she even cooks for our Midwest mini meets... Now that's Love!!!!
