Here are some Pictures and Video (now in HD!) of the Yorx BP1000 that a friend of mine gave me. We’ll, I paid him the $8.00 he bought it for
This is a triple cassette deck player, with one deck that pops out to become a walkman (Walkgirl is going to love this thing!). It has a 3 band eq disguised as a 6 band
and individual volume sliders.
This radio has some interesting features, like the way the detachable speakers lock in place when the handle is up and the way the two main cassette decks are sideways!
This unit will record from decks A to B and it also has continuous playback from deck A to B and from B to C! So it will play one side of 3 tapes continuously. So if you have three 90 minute cassettes, 45 minutes per side of 3 cassettes, this unit would play for 135 minutes non stop. That’s pretty damn cool. :sin:
It’s a 4 speaker system has one antenna (original), has a clean battery box and battery cover, even the walkman still has it's battery cover and runs on 6 D cell batteries.
The issues that I have found:
The antenna needs the brass washers put back in for it to stand up. Decks A&B play slow, ff & rw works, but I think the belts are slipping, so both need a re-belt. The walkman plays perfectly on batteries, but not in the boombox. I can see there is corrosion on the contacts of the walkman to the power supply of the boombox. No big deal. The walkman is missing one button, but the stop button is identical to the one missing. Bredgeo!!!!
She's going to need a full cleaning!
BTW, when was the last time you listened to a walkman of this era? These things are F'n LOUD! No joke, I plugged in my headphones to my cell phone and into this and this is WAY SCREAMIN' ASS LOUDER!
Anyway, here's pic's
