Ferrari and Camper go into storage today...
Dude, I told you I would keep the Ferrari safe until you got back. It's a shame that it won't be loved for so long. :-/

Sorry man, I forgot! :-D It's put away now. Yeah, it's a bummer to not see it in the garage, that's for sure.

I was confused there for a while, trying to figure out why you were doing all that crap to the camper... oh, right you need the truck to get home haha!

Do you have anything required of you once you're there, or can you just go blasting all day every day?

I liked the vid too, it was entertaining but also brought on the reality of the situation. I don't envy you with having countless arrangements to make and endless things to sort out out in such a short time.

I wish you the very best of luck and hope it all goes well.

Up and need the truck to move all the stuff we are not taking into that storage room, which in now filled to the rim!

There are very big plans coming. 2017 will be a very busy year. But you'll have to wait for the details on that! :-D

It was sad to put the Ferrari away. Breaks my heart. Going to be a while before I can play with her again. :'-(

Thank you, it is exhausting. It seems like it never ends. From passports and Visa's to release forms from the finance companies financing our car and motorcycle to allow us to take them out of the country, change of address forms, talks with the landlord (we rent), endless documents....I'm worn out from all this crap!

Of all the gear you're taking to Italy, the one Italian thing you own is staying home: the Ferrari!!
Yeah, doesn't make sense. Where we are going, Naples is known for having the worst drivers in Italy. They have a thing they call "The Naples Kiss". That's when people just run into your car and drive off. Naples also has the highest car insurance rates because of it. And since my car is literally flawless, it's staying home!

Well, I'm Farked!

Yesterday I met my wife for lunch. On the way out the door to meet me she was handed a letter from the new President. It is a hiring freeze across the whole federal government, of which my wife works. This now means we are stuck in a "Grey Area". Thanks to his actions we are sitting in a house full of boxes that were set to be shipped to Italy February 6th. As of right now, we are stuck in limbo. We don't know if, or when we will go.

My landlord just started showing the house we have been renting for the last 5 years to prospective tenants. We just signed a 1 year lease with a storage facility to house our car, our truck and camper and 1/3 of our belongings at $1000 a month, that was to be reimbursed to us as part of the agreement on us going to Italy, that we now have to pay for. We just spent $1600 buying our way out of our cell phone agreement (paying off phones and early cancellation, non refundable), we just gave our refrigerator and much of our furniture to our daughter and moved all that this past weekend. We donated electric heaters, window mounted air conditioners and many other items we weren't going to be able to use on 220V in Italy.

All in all, when everything's said and done, this will cost us $20k.

I know there is a thread going in the off topic section regarding politics. Personally, I think it's a subject we should stay away from here on Boomboxery. It tends to go south very fast.

But I just want to say, when the president says "I'm going to deport 15 million people" or "I'm going to dismantle the health care system" or "I'm going to_______(fill in the blank)". there are actual people affected by his actions.

Yesterday, at 11 am I was working towards a bright new future after my wife and I have worked so hard to dig our way out of losing our home of 15 years in the crash of 2007. We left that house with two cars we owed money on, some furniture and around 30 radios. By 12:30 pm yesterday I was GUTTED once more by the actions of the president of the "United" states. Personally, I see nothing "United" about the united states and I find it ever increasingly hard to have an "American Dream". Every 4 or 8 years a new arsehole comes in a screws the pooch again.

So, we will now sit here waiting to see where the dice will land. Could take 1 day, could take 3 months, could never happen. I'll be hemorrhaging money in the process of waiting.

Dear me, that's one heck of a bombshell at this stage. I'm not sure I can find the right words at the moment other than to say that my heart goes out to you and your family. I send my best wishes to you in the hope that everything will work out well for you - and very soon.

Man, that really sucks, Chris. Most things that government has a hand in will get screwed up eventually. I hate that it happened to you and Ellen.

If it will help save you some money, my offer to house and maintain the Ferrari for you still stands. I won't charge you anything.
