I won't even mention who guessed my new Sanyo was a GF-9696. :-)

BTW, what is it about the 720 that makes you prefer it over the 920?

I've always favoured the classic round speaker grill look. IMHO, the 720 has just the right amount of chrome - typically restrained Sanyo styling - classy without looking chintzy.

Sanyo boxes definately have a unique sound to them - every mid to high end Sanyo has that signature sound.

Wow that a beautiful looking box. I absolutely love its brother but the 720 is gorgeous. I don't think i had paid much attention to them lusting after a 920 but it is stunning. Great score.

The 920 is a nice box and very handsome but it underachieves a little considering its size. The 720 has the sleek long design with the bold Vu's in the middle where I like them. Incidentally my 920F came from Aus.

I see your 720 has a few more inputs then the European ones.

Wow, 3 720s!! That one in your pic looks fantastically clean. I'm assuming the euro version has the same RCA line in /
phono inputs (switchable via a switch on the back) and RCA line outs.

I agree that the 920 is a handsome looking box with masses of shiny bits all over. The sound quality of the 920 is very good but they're not overally powerful for their size.

To my ears, the 720 sounds very similar. The 920 is most probably more powerful and should produce more bass with the bigger speakers but the power draw seems the same at 26 watts for both the 720 & 920.

I'd still love to find a minty 920 but I've got a feeling it wouldn't be a $130 AUD purchase as the last one sold here went for $1200 + with faulty FM tuner and a left channel only deck!

We Europeans got a little short changed with the inputs on some of our boxes. Same with the M90s.
This is 720 LU and it only has the phono RCAs. So I have to use an attenuator with this box.
The other two 720s were from the States but had issues and transit damage. I'm hoping to make one good box out of the other two.

My 920 from Australia was cheap James so keep your eyes peeled, there seem to be plenty over your way.
