Not that I have any experience in these, but this era of electronics, especially high end stuff can be very complicated and packed! A combination of high end features and "Let's see how small we can make it" was all the rage at the time. The Technics SA-C05L has three smaller boards inside that meet around the back of the deck to form half of a cuboid shape, and of thae three, one is the A/F amp board. All three sub boards are edge mounted to each other, so working in any depth (including fitting belts) involves the sort of skills required by one of those annoying people off "Britain's Got Talent" (but we hide it well), who can build a house of cards using the whole bloody pack without a single card falling down!Gluecifer said:

So for that reason, the Denon has to be better.
