Since i started collecting boomboxes (around 10 years ago) my taste in boomboxes changed. I got rid of a lot and kept only a few - also i stopped collecting at some point. I'm back in the game since last year. Throughout all this time, there was one machine that i thought i would never own. prices skyrocked and i - till today - don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of cash that could be used better elsewhere. You may have a slight idea by now of which particular box im talking.
Last month, after 10 years (more or less) i got my first JVC M90.
It had a rough life as a kitchen-radio. there was a thick crust of frying oil which may have protected the surface beneath
Here she is after a first rough cleaning:
she still needs a second soft cleaning - but until now im bamboozled by its looks. It has those blue-ish Speakers which i always found way more appealing. The sound is crazy - does not beat my Sony FH-909R, but is among my favourite portables.
It is missing the top of the left antenna - if anyone got an idea of how to repair this or find a fitting replacement (doesn't need to be an original part) - hit me up.
finally i'm a member of the famous M90 Owners Club
