Taking the Conion up to the lake! :dj-party: Can't wait to drown out the $20 Wal-Mart special that's up there now. Anyone else dragging a box around for the long weekend? ("...to the lake!," NOT "in the lake.")

I almost took a box to the pool but I wasn't sure if they would bust my chops or not. Next time. Nice pic.

Remember, Scotty, 25 years ago it would have been unacceptable to show up to the pool without one. :surf:

Took the Clairtone 7979 to the pool today and it was a big hit.
Old school R&B was the playlist
Will be bringing it to a BBQ later and the beach tommorow

I'll tell ya....I'm sure there were a bunch of BIG BLASTERS pulling double duty this weekend and for that I SALUTE YOU.

But since I only had 6 D cell's at my disposal I pulled out my super clean Panasonic FM 45 Mini and did some grillin'

It was just the wife and I, 2 T Bones, 2 Ears of Corn

BUT...This little Mini delivered the goods just the same....I had it crankin' up and thought :hmmm: ..."Sh@T, I better turn that down a little :w00t: "

With plenty of AC power at hand, I did pretty well. We only burned about a 1/2 set of 10 D's. I have no idea why the deck is recording. The night prior ran pretty late.

Love the gas-free grilling, by the way.

Had the M90 out today at a huge family bbq. I was suprised as I was the only person in the whole park with any kind of radio. People were making positive comments about it all day long and asking if they could take a picture with it. One young lady even said " I am in love with this radio, how do I get one?" There were also lots of comments on how new it still looked...people really love boomboxes, they are prime for a comback... :-D

Had the M90 volume set to 7 all day and the batteries lasted without a problem. I must say the sound on the M90 carried throughout the whole park. I took a walk and could not believe how far the sound travels and how nice it sounds from very far away. Just a fantastic boombox. Whenever I take the M90 out in public I get reminded why it is the King of Boomboxes.

I needed to get nice and far from the city. So I headed for the "wilderness" of Maine

It was a pretty special trip because one of my cousins, whom I had not seen in 3 years, was going. And my 85 year old Nana made the trip to the family "compound" affectionately referred to as "The Tiki Bar."
(Bear with me. There is a boombox involved.)

A couple of months ago, member LLopez was kind enough to hook me up with a Sanyo M9990 for a very fair price. :thankyou:
This is a special box because this was the make and model of my grandfather's original box that he carried to work with him every day from 1980, until he passed away in 1992.
One of my first memories is sitting on the cellar stairs in Newton, MA, singing Christmas carols with my cousins into a pair of mics, recorded onto the M9990.
My Nana still has this tape from 1984.
When everybody saw it, they were blown away, because my grandfather's original M9990 burned in a fire in the garage in 1994.
(There's my Dad, on the yellow canoe, with his wife.)

...And, once I put it down on the bar, there it sayed for the last two days, serving it's purpose, willfully, and well.

...And, of course, late night.

...So, yeah, I like my Sanyo M9990.
And we all had a much deserved awesome weekend. :beer2: :drunk: :-D
