This blaster is nice looking with a metal front and light silver backing. I just need to clean it up a bit.

I thought I would research this boombox, but when I went online, I could not find anything! Stereos80 does not even have curtis mathes listed as a brand.

This must be a rare bird under this name brand.

Does anyone recognize it under another brand?

same here ????

it has that 'good sound' look :-O
so -- does it........... ? :-)
I think it sounds really good. It does not have ambience, so the stereo separation is not as good as say a panasonic rx5100. But, it does sound a little better than a jvc pc77, and louder.

Nice but must be an AKA of some sort... :-D  :hmmm:
Yes, that is what I was thinking too. Perhaps pioneer? :hmmm:

Here are pictures of the back. The doors on the speakers are a nice touch..I think it is just to hold the wires in, I see nothing inside.

from the front view --
it looks like a i piece with the 3 piece look :-)
Yes. Wish it was 1 piece but not bad. Probably later 80s since it has the 3 piece design, but the colors and facing look earlier 80s. It is still interesting to me. :-)

Still waiting on someone to point out a similar model.

Very nice looking box.

The made in Korea sticker is the clue I used.

It's an AKA GoldStar TSR-900

Thanks el cad and ViennaSound :-)

I should have noticed that it was an AKA since it was a good quality box with no raised lettering on the nameplate..just a painted label.

It is also good to know that it is a music box. :w00t:

No idea, but the sticker is for sure original.
The 3sat stickers at the boxes for sure not.

Maybe only UNIVERSUM added it.... :hmmm:

I bought one today and found the speaker wires that turn into RCA connectors were both severed. The tape player wont play but will go into reverse and rewind. The radio is actually really good played through the headphone jack.

Anyone know where to get 2 wire RCA cables like these and to get parts for the tape player portion?

I am thinking of using the AUX inputs to play MP3's or something modern with the classic look.
