About the tape seems to be dead belts.... :hmmm:

What´s the problem with the cables?
Sorry, my bad english...

A simple belt change would be nice!

The RCA cables were both cut off a few inches after they exit the back of the boombox. I dont know why anyone would do that because they get their signal like that. I was thinking that if I can can find the right speaker wires that I could open up the speaker housings and solder in some replacements that look stock.

I am going to take pictures of the boombox so you all can see it.

I just went to Radioshack and was looking through the RCA cables and realized its Phono speaker wire. Its got Phono jacks in the back with two wires instead of the mono RCA jacks we are used to seeing nowadays. I bought speaker wire with male phono plugs on both ends and doubled the wires and cut them right in the middle. After twisting the wires together, both sides of the speakers work!

I opened up the speakers and soldered some new speaker wires directly on the speaker tabs.

Radioshack 12 ft speaker cable, Phono plug to phono plug part# 42-2445 , it looks like the stock wiring

Inside the front faceplate of the speaker cabinet, it says Goldstar Co LTD, if you look at the 3rd picture you can see it imprinted into the plastic above the woofer.

I've got one of these as well. It's not the easiest to install a belt but I've seen harder ones. There is a circuit board over the back of the player with soldered wires that do not unclip so you have to be careful. There are only two belts if I remember correctly. One main belt that drives the player and another which turns the counter

That Curtis Mathis Brand was a Top shelf electronics Company based out of Texas if I recll correctly :hmmm: They're motto was " Curtis Mathis, expensive but, worth it" They were one of the the last U.S. made electronics companies until they sold they're name off in the mid 80s. I remember an eBay seller that sold his minty Curtis Mathis badged one and I do believe it had made in USA stickers (OR, made exclusively for Curtis Mathis) on the rear panel. These Korean stickers one might've been by the Company that bought C.M. out. Anyone else see that auction or know more?
