Rick...Man....this is one of the more painful threads I have read lately. A lessor man might throw his hands in the air and piss and moan about it and I'm so glad to hear your going to solder on! Your carrying in legendary and inspirational.
I hope you won't shy away from your big Lasonic's either!
I have to say it....every time I have the 975, 935 or the 951 out, I think about it....the handles are SOOOO long....not like the shorties on the 777 or the C-100. Add the fact that this is 30 year old plastic and it's a ticking time bomb.
Can I ask what kind of damage the case experienced? Just so I know what my future might bring
Well Glue....like I said, a lessor man....Thankfully your passion runs deeper!
AND....much like jaetee, it happened to me back in the day....towards the end of my first TRC-920's life....
By this time many of the switches were busted off the front, the cassette wasn't working and the cassette door was busted off....Then, while riding my bike, holding my radio in one hand by the handle, I went off the curb like I always did and that was it....no more handle....that was really the death blow....she was retired to the dresser after that...and a few years later she found her final resting place where she resides today....The Los Angeles / San Fernando City dump!
