Yay, got the thing the other day fully intact. It has not much signs of wear either. Just very dirty. Cassettes seem to play but on the second time testing it sounded like some loose plastic or so had made its way to the mechanism and make a sound. Also it slowed the decks down

But this one sounds really clean. Bass is more punchy that I'd expect for a cheap box. It has only 5 band EQ, for cosmetic reasons it has dual sliders on every band... :annoyed: Maybe I'll do some tricks with this. The speakers are rated at 10W which sis kinda high, I think. Though with the 100Hz turned up it will distort kinda easily, sounds like speakers are maxed out, put it has plenty of power still.
Antenna was ripped apart and for some reason the jag that holds the antenna down was cut away?
I got myself a Sure 2x25W @ 6ohm Class-D amp (operates from 14-19V) and two 2x50W models (basically the same unit) are on their way.
Will do some serious power ups for my big but weak Palladium and maybe try one on the STR 5099A too. Will see.
I may try to seal the box as good as I can, it has about 25-28 liters of volume and the fake bass ports on the front just screams to be cut open. Did some measuring with a software and it looks like just punching through the "ports" would give the box a tuning frequency of about 65 or 80Hz, depending on software used. The volume should be really fine for a serious bass output with exchanged speakers. I bought 2 pairs of some spare Heco ones with alu-look cones. May try them out.
