If you don't like the unit heres Bumpoxx return policy:
"
What's the policy for return?
RETURN POLICY FOR USA

Bumpboxx will only accept returns for products returned in unused condition, in complete original packaging, including point of sale and shipping cartons, all accessories, and instructions. All returns must be within 30 days of purchase. With a 15% Processing Fee." .
Yeah that shite consumer policy doesn't fly in Europe fortunately, but I don't know how applicable European laws would be when dealing with an item from Kickstarter.

Wow, i might just have to consider putting my black founders up for sale. That guy that sold that one should have waited to see what production # he got, if a low # below prob could get a lot more,+ theres the "drawing" for the #1 & # 777 coming up = even more $ Value ! I bet the ebays fee's ate into what was left of that $2500 took a hefty chunk out .

Ebay isn't even following their own policies for auctions like this. Specific availability dates are required.

Well, kickstarter has applied charges. I am excited. Shouldn't be long now. I am starting to wonder which modern boombox I will use more. The Aiwa backtrack or the BB-777?

Yeah, looking forward to my Silver FE!

I was tempted with the Backtrack a while back, what are your thoughts on it?
It is my favorite modern boombox (with cassette). Quality is what you would expect from a China made radio and available cassette transport, but it scratches that itch of opening a new radio in the 80's and the sound is on par with an old school blaster. It does not take a new battery pack like modern equipment. They kept the D battery compartment. That is a plus or a minus depending on who you talk to. On the plus side, if you are out and need batteries, you can swap them out at a gas station and keep going or get 10,000mAh D NiMh Rechargeable batteries that will run it for 8 to 12 hours depending on volume, etc..

I did have to dial in the cassette speed and I wish they had auto stop on rewind and FF but aside from that, the sound is great and everything works as you would expect. Knobs feel high quality and do not wobble. Tuner is strong on FM.

Overall, it's currently my go to when I want to preserve my vintage gear. I do think that the BB-777 may be my go to once I get it. We'll see. :-) On the plus side, the aiwa (China ) boombox is only $260 or so new and you can play just about every usable portable format available.

Better than the GPO, that's for sure
I bought the Aiwa Backtrack but decided to send it back. It's certainly beautiful looking and plays all of the media you'd want to play. But I just didn't like the sound out of it. It sounded cheap. I want deep, rich, smooth, and creamy, like soft serve ice cream. The Backtrack was more like peanut brittle.
I've ordered the 777, hoping its sound quality delivers.

I know there are some that will disagree as it is a matter of preference but I like that the Gold features aren't just going to be a dull painted surface like the ones on the pre-production model. It really makes it that much better IMO.

I also appreciate how they are looking to address known issues before they are released. Way to go!

Anyone else notice thst since they got paid their customer service and response to questions completely stopped?

Been asking for a while now about paying to swap my Founders VIP carry bag to the graffiti bag. Asked multiple times and they haven't responded.

They use multiple vendors to handle product launch, social media, and customer service. So any delay in response is probably driven by a shift in responsibility between those groups after the pledge period ended.

The 2 main individuals answering questions are currently in China overseeing the assembly lines. They are truly working hard to deliver a quality product. As a collector and consultant on this project I absolutely love the BB-777. The build quality and sound are top tier. I was also consultant on the Mini M90 project. I only put my name on projects that truly represent what I want and expect as a collector. The BB-777 does that for me. Bumpboxx truly listened to everything I suggested and more. The next project from them will be even better.
