Will the buyer get what he paid for? 95 % feedback seller???????????
I reported it, but Ebay did nothing. I thought they had a rule saying you're not allowed to list something you don't own yet.

I'm more concerned with the tape heads. I have a $7 Akai cs-m4 cassette deck from 1982 that will outperform this machine; superior tape head, real VU meters that are for setting record levels, Dolby noise reduction, independent left and right channel record levels. Sounds far better than Fiio CP-13 which has a modern cassette head. According to Techmoan the record levels are automatic, that right there tells me that I'm only looking at a bluetooth speaker. What kind of videos are they wanting? Myself and others have already made videos of the sound. For hiphop and electronic music it will blow most people away. More bass (and deeper bass) than any other "retro style" boombox thus far. Is it good with classic rock or jazz or classical? I don't know, I didn't test those forms of music. But even if it isn't, I'll still be happy. Who uses one device for all their audio needs?
As for the issues related to the CD player, I agree it's concerning that it skips the first half second of songs. Hopefully they will fix that. But as for the mechanical noise? That's a cost issue, not a quality control one. Generic mechanisms make noise. Could they have found a better mech that still fit the box? Maybe, but you can bet it would have cost more. At this price point and volume, we're just going to have to accept the idiosyncrasies that come with off-the-shelf parts. Same with the tape deck.
I'd also like to point out that even big brands like JBL and Harman Kardon have known issues with background noise and premature Bluetooth muting in their boomboxes.
What country are you in? Here in the US the basic unit without any options costs $669 US dollars, not $2,000
What the hell is this!!!!!!!!!!
Look at the comment with the picture of a guy thanking them for finally sending the 777. OK the image looks fake to me but read the reply from bumpboxx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are bumpboxx using AI to answer these or are they shitting on us?

Of course, but the sound of the BB-777 will out perform every 80s boombox.Ah yes, i've seen your posts on the Kickstarter page. Nearly every cassette deck made in 1982 will outperform nearly every cassette deck made today.

People are frustrated, I get it, but it's all a bit overblown imo
They released the BB-777 operations manual today for the backers. I just tried to attach it here, but says file is too big. (10.5M)
Glad to see that you can record from any source to USB. It does not state the filetype or bitrate it records at, though? I've heard it's MP3 192kps.
The manual also alludes to the fact that there's just one built-in mic? I thought there were 2 and assuming it recorded in stereo, but doesn't look like it.

The point is they are claiming to have re-incarnated the legend, rebirthed an icon, the soul of ...etc.Of course, but the sound of the BB-777 will out perform every 80s boombox.

New vids released > You have like 45 min to change ur mind.I cancelled my pledge recently and there is time for anyone else that has doubts.
I became suspicious when inquiring about shipping because I am in a remote region. I was told amazon fulfillment would ship to my address which means the worst courier in the country. Then someone else expressed their concerns and they were told fedex/ups/dhl (probably the best three couriers in the world) would be delivering. I asked for clarification and was told "we also use Amazon fulfillment in many areas. But Amazon fulfillment uses these services in some areas as well" which didn't make any sense to me but I guessed it would be the dregs. Which exposed a clear pattern of behaviour; the company issuing verbal assurances without any real backing. In the intro video from the founder they claimed it was "audiophile" quality for the "purist". If the original wasn't when Sharp was on top of the golden age of these machines how could this one be? The tape heads (ahem) they claim were reverse engineered from a Sony head and parts were made in Vietnam (possibly Japan if memory serves) and the whole thing assembled in China. Sounds like quite an effort for a company that never made a cassette player before. But is it true? They sent out pre-production units to influencers and, whether spoken or not, the understanding was to not say anything at all negative and that's what they got. But apparently they sent a unit out on popular demand to Techmoan and he went off script and started reviewing it instead. He fed back to the supplier and I imagine they paniced and try to repair what they claimed has passed by FIFTY testers. That to mean seems like a very rounded and large number. How could FIFTY testers have missed all the basic errors Techmoan easily picked up with his unfussy hearing (he tested the unit with MP3's, bless him). He then read the emails to his viewers which they can't have been happy about because that is wasn't they were telling the backers, that EVERY SINGLE ISSUE HAD BEEN RESOLVED. But according to their email to Techmoan "with regard to the click I'm hearing as I jump between tracks on the CD... the operational noise present during CD seek and tracking functions remains as it is a characteristic of the current transport and optical mechanism architecture". Hardly from what Bumpboxx claimed after that video "be assured you are getting an amazing unit free of any and all issues". Also "99% of people are going to fall in love with this unit". They blamed the backers for that review (an assessment according to him as it was so incomplete), three times and were sore about the experience. But there were no complaints from them over the pre-production unit they sent to Flossey Carter who posted a "review" three weeks earlier, I'm sure because he didn't have a single negative thing to say.
They also claimed it was in the hands of a grammy award winning producer and they were "blown away" by the sound. Then there were two but they still remain unnamed. One promotional video features Taboo, 6X grammy winner according to the title, member of the Blacked Eyed Peas' whom, according to Wiki is an "American rapper, musician and actor". No mention of producer so who are these impressed class leading producers that approve and why are they anonymous?
I am now questioning ALL the claims that cannot be verified. Backers are also kicking up a fuss, they want to see videos before they pledge their cash and they were promised that they would, but after several days it's now claimed videos will only be available after the financial deadline when cards are charged. They will allow anyone who cancelled to re-pledge for two weeks, though.
It would make a decent bluetooth speaker at $650 but I find it hard to hand over almost $2,000 to a company that hasn't been honest.
Their product quality nor style look stellar either, they're really imitating Japanese engineering (in the case of the heads) and styling, but what's under the hood?
Just a heads up if anyone is sitting on the fence with this.
Wow, i might just have to consider putting my black founders up for sale. That guy that sold that one should have waited to see what production # he got, if a low # below prob could get a lot more,+ theres the "drawing" for the #1 & # 777 coming up = even more $ Value ! I bet the ebays fee's ate into what was left of that $2500 took a hefty chunk out .It took a long time but heck , someone is selling air on epay and someone paid 2500 $ for that
I'm gonna keep my trap shut

Not on facebook either.
Looking forward to the perceptive reviews.
Over and out.
The fuss happened because Bumpboxx have stepped into a retro arena. An arena where retro enthusiasts demand quality. It's a first for the company as far as I can see and a bold move. I predict the next Bumpboxx project will be even more successful than the BB-777 and Rob and his team have learned a lot from this endeavour. You don't make a great product if surrounded by yes men and fanboys. Get the constructive criticism as early as possible and engage expert engineers and designers who know how to get the best out of tape mechs, CD and other formats. No offense to anyone doubting this project but, I Cannot believe all the drama surrounding it.
Collectors have been talking about this sort of thing happening since the early 2000's and it is finally happening.
Instead of crapping all over the BB-777, we should be thrilled that Bumpboxx has gone out on a limb to produce
(In my opinion) one of the coolest retro boxes to hit the market to date!!
Boomboxes were never meant to replace a high-quality home stereo system, and none of them were perfect in every aspect.
They were intended to bring your music anywhere and look pretty darn cool while doing so. I think this is what some people are losing sight of.
Don't expect audiophile quality.
Instead, expect a modern retro boombox that, sound wise will probably outperform
anything that was produced in the 80's
For the minimal $649. backer price I personally would get this even just to put up on the shelf as art.
Rest assured though, I will be rocking it out when it arrives!!!!
Peace out
