Hey fellas, it's been a while. I am a consultant on the BB-777 project. I currently have one of the prototypes and putting it through real world testing.
About the build: It is injection molded plastic and the same size as a classic 777. Double cassette with high speed dubbing. External mics have pre set volume. Plug in mics have adjustable volume and echo feature. Carry handle will be geared for slow ingress. It will come with a remote. Carry strap included.
Formats: CD, cassette, USB, Bluetooth, and 3.5mm aux input. AM/FM/SW radio. Rechargeable lithium ion battery good for 12-16 hours of play time. Battery will be customer serviceable. Also has ability to convert analog cassettes to digital via USB. 270 real watts of power. 30 step notched volume knob. True stereo. Loudness switch. Grills and front labels are magnetic. I've had this one for a week and it has very balanced sound. Bass hits very hard with no distortion. Treble is crisp. The horns give a special feel to vocals. I love this thing. I honestly plan to have 3 of them. No company has released a true retro boombox until now. This one has earned that title.

Testing it at the park, sound travels very well. It's not a screamer like classic boomboxes, this has deep, rich sound. Woofers have rubber surrounds and are encased individually. There is no distortion and no sound bleed. Vocals are clear and treble is very crisp.

Never bought any bumpboxx but would buy this. Still waiting on the new wave toys version
New Wave Toys will not be making a full sized or mini version. I was also a consultant on their mini M90 project. The project leader for the mini boomboxes left the company. To date the mini M90 was there most successful project.

Hey @mellymelsr Can you update me on the following questions:

Do the digital Red LED VU meters register volume output or source input?

If volume output is referenced by the VU meters, do they bounce well without the boombox needing to be at full volume? I ask because I sometimes listen to my radios indoors without always cranking them and it is nice to see action even when a jam session isn't in order.

Do the VU meters show tuner and battery strength? If not, is there an easy way to know how much battery life is left on the boombox itself?

How long does the internal battery take to recharge when fully drained?

Does the recording cassette deck have a permanent erase magnet or a powered erase head?

Does this boombox cassette decks have auto-stop on FF/Rew or Play only?

Does the LCD matrix screen show CD Text along with MP3 text or track info only?

Will this boombox play Flac or only MP3 and WAV?

Does this boombox record in a greater quality than 128kbps onto USB/SD?

How far away will Bluetooth and the remote work?

Is this boombox's open air recordings in stereo or mono via a single mic?

I am sure to think of other questions but this is all I can come up with at the moment.

The red VU LED's measure output volume only. At normal listening volumes you will see some movement. More volume equals more movement. They aren't incredibly sensitive.

Roughly 6 hours for a full battery recharge. Unit can play while charging.

There is no visual measurement for tuner strength. There will be a battery gauge programmed into the LCD screen.

Don't know about erase heads. We are upgrading to Japanese heads. Once that happens I will find out.

When you reach the end of the tape via play/ff/rew the current deck stops.

The current LCD screen does not show track information on CD/USB other than the number of track. Will check if this can be changed with software update.

CD plays FLAC, WAV, and MP3 with ID3 tags.

Don't know about analog to digital conversion rate. I will find out.

Haven't measured Bluetooth distance but if unit is in my garage it continues to receive a signal when I'm in my backyard. I will distance test for a more accurate measurement.

Remote didn't come with initial prototype. When I get an assembly line unit I will test remote.

Open air recordings with internal mic is stereo. Not sure about a single plugged in mic.

Good to see you back, @mellymelsr !!

By the way, keep the BB-777 out of the driveway.:lol::lol::lol::lol:
I still have nightmares about that driveway incident.... Glad to be back. I've been reading the latest Boomboxery news getting caught up. So glad Boomboxery is still going strong. This site has been an invaluable resource for collectors. Thank you for all you do Bobby.

So you are the man for more info:cool:

Will it be available in Europe ?

Was this in reference to the M70 that was squashed by the wife in the car? I think it was an M70 :hmmm:

I assume this is for general release?

If I buy through Kickstarter and I'm in the UK, will I receive a US model at 120v? I'm absolutely fine with charging it using my step down transformer.
I will find out how they plan to handle countries with different voltage needs.

If it is a Kickstarter thing, isn't it normal there are different prices depending on different offers or time of purchase?
There will be different Kickstarter packages available. The base package will be $549. There will be different color options, among other things, for different package prices.
