Never bought any bumpboxx but would buy this. Still waiting on the new wave toys version
I've been waiting for New Wave also but I don't think it'll ever happen at this point. I message them every once in a while amd they always just say, "Yeah, we still plan to."

Most strange about it is that they realeased Arcade games over and over, different vending machines, pinball remakes and whatever, but then when you ask them about it claim that the construction of another boom box means so much more work and effort. Might not hit the 777, but I guess the technique inside the M90 could have been brought into half a dozen different other remakes of Sharp or Sanyo or Lasonic with not many changes. I supose the actual problem must be something else, may it be copyright reasons or just that the M90 didn't sell as well as it had to for more projects.

Ok I heard one in person, and yeah it'll smoke any vintage, as well as the DJ Tech.
Two 6.25" full range speakers, two 6.25" super woofers in separate chambers, with working super woofer knobs.
Four tweeters (two soft-domes mounted in front of the mids, and two horns above the mids)
Magnetic grills
The bass hits hard, with lots of air coming out of the ports on the back.
Antennas can be screwed off the posts for easy replacement.

I was wrong about the power supply, it doesn't use a universal adapter, it has an internal transformer with a fixed voltage of 120. I'm not sure if they plan to offer international versions, but they probably will. This is just a pre-production unit, not the final version. Several small changes will be made. The preorders/kickstarter will begin in a few weeks.

Does it feel chinzy like all the new plastic audio stuff these days or does it feel quality. Like the knobs, when you turn them, do they have a quality feel or do they feel like they'll fall off just by looking at them too hard? All those TDK's now have volume knobs falling off and those aren't even that old. Otherwise, if price is reasonable, I might be interested in one. Admittedly, that IS the most impressive looking modern boombox to date. That's a far cry from the towel bar handled bumpboxxes they started with.

The knobs are solid, they're way better than the ones on a Lasonic or a GPO Brooklyn.
All of them have center detents. The volume knob is digital, so it doesn't have any end points, but all the other knobs do.
The CD tray and tape doors seemed solid, I didn't notice any vibration while blasting it.

Yes, I'm also interested in tape mechanisms. Are they Tanshin?
Do they have a magnet for the erase head or is it electric?
I see that it also has a large display.
Does it show the name of the files on the USB?
Are there buttons for changing folders + - ?
I guess, there will be a demo video soon...

Oh yes and a remote control?
That would be handy

Oh wait, that thing plays CDs? Ok now I’m officially interested.
I was looking at that slot on the front thinking it might be for a CD. But I kept second guessing myself because the box didn't look deep enough in the photos for a CD.

I guess it is. Hmm.

I am wondering what the sound difference is between this and the Chinabox Aiwa I have? It likely has a more powerful amp if I know bumpboxx. I still have my OG freestyle but I haven't used it in years. Probably would need a new battery at this point.

I held a CD up to the gf 777 and its plenty deep enough for a CD slot with about an inch to spare.

I held off on this until Reli's post. I have to say with he size and the features, it looks really impressive!

As someone who doesn't scan Kickstarter very often, I hope one of you can post the link here so we can jump in when it comes available.

I saw a line under the display , did not know it was a CD slot . Nice
Oh yes now i see the CD logo next to BB777
CD player has a buffer ? So it will not skip @ high volume
That's a good question . I would think that venting the speakers through ports in the back are the best way to go because the back sound waves of the speakers are directed out of the box instead of radiating throughout the interior of the boombox.

I agree, they're basically a necessity in a plastic boombox with lots of power.
