I can't believe how bad this is, at first I didn't think much of it until the latest news report. The report is the Brisbane river is rising 1.5 meters per hour. What i'm hearing now is this could be their worse flood in 100 years.
With a little luck hopefully it will not get as bad as they are reporting. To the members living there, i'm hopeful you and your families are safe.

I've been watching the news too and it looks pretty bad down under.

The earths magnetic field has shifted a bit because here in Tampa International Airport they have to re-numbered the runways.

The water is starting to creep into downtown Brisbane area... still about a 4 ft surge to come, and tomorrow another 3 ft on top of that. so imagine it 7 ft above the current level. I am not at work, I've come home to scope out our house. I guess the shop will go under though

Terry, I hope you fared better than some of these report.

Sorry to hear about your shop. The good news is with tomorrow being the peak they are now reporting that it may not be as bad as expected for some areas.

To date the report says 22 dead and 75 people missing. And I believe the storm has been going for at least 2 weeks now. Even knowing it's rain season down there, I guess it's the worst in 100 years???

I'm going to look on the map to find the corresponding streets you listed. Do you live on or near one of those streets?

Hope for the best

OK guys, I'm safe. Although I live in one of the lowest areas of Brisbane Metro area, I live about 20 minutes drive from the city center. I did not see any floodwater at all around my home.

I came into the city to help my employer restore our shop, no water got in, (the water came to the top of the stairs, but the shop is in the basement!) yesterday everything was removed to much higher ground, and today we have to put it all back. :-) Compounded by the fact it is still very wet in some areas, it took me 5 hours to make a 25 minute journey by train, I arrived at work after 11 am, I then spent an hour wandering the city waiting for some tech guys to come and put our IT gear together, 3 hours later we have electricity, internet access and network services.

There is a team of 6 guys putting all our expensive print equipment back together and I expect we will be fully operational for business by 8am tomorrow.

I spent an hour wandering about, not very many people in the heart of the city, a lot of EMT, Fire and Police guys around. I took a few pictures and will upload them when I get home tonight.

Thanks for all your well wishes.

@ hardmen - OMG Rio! I hope you and your family are safe.
