I have all but stopped with vintage purchases as I have aquired all the models I really wanted. Plus I have a rule. All boxes must work as intended so, I only purchase what I can excercise and maintain on a regualr basis. The BB-777 will probably be the last radio I buy.

Yeah, I have too many that need repairing. They take up too much time.
The BB-777 will be the most I've ever paid for a boombox, but I think it will be worth it.
I have too many really, but none that anyone would realistically call desirable. Most of mine are in a storage container, along with all the other 'crap' that I collect, so I really need to thin out and get rid of a lot of stuff.
I have the same problem. For example, I have a Telefunken HiFi Studio 1M as my daily driver. It would be a tragedy if it breaks down. These can get expensive and I can't just go and replace it. So every now and then when a box pops up for less than average on local marketplaces, I have to get it. Now I have 3 or 4 – I even lost track lol – non working 1Ms sitting around just in case I need parts. Same with other models I love. What makes the situation worse is that I haven't had time to work on boxes for quite a while now and the spare boxes keep stacking up ...
Also I make small events at local bars where I spread 9 or more boxes all over the location and let them play music from the same source over an FM transmitter. The idea is to make boomboxes visible and experienceable, most kids only know them from pictures or TV. But I exhibit only the boxes I don't like or which are worthless to me incase they get fumbled with or dropped. The result is that I don't WANT to sell the boxes I like and CAN'T sell the boxes I don't like.
Yeah, that's way too many for me, especially if they're not all in good working order.
I have 4 right now that have been sitting for the last several years that I may never get to refurbishing which annoys me because they're pretty decent boxes and I overpaid for 2 of them (so stupid).
