I'd love to use some of my favourite boomboxes every day of the week, but that's just not my life anymore. I try to use my boxes as much as I can, and I love what I have, but convience usually wins out. I've got a massive library of CDs all ripped to FLAC and hosted on my NAS with Plexamp. 9 times out of 10, I'm listening on my PC while working through a lovely set of MA Silvers.
My main rant is around pulling out a boombox after not using for a few weeks and something has died. Fancied a listening session this afternoon with my Hitachi TRK-8190, fully restored last year, all working well last time I used it in early April. Popped a tape in and the right speaker was dead when playing cassettes, radio is fine. Auto stop has also decided to kick the bucket.
Get my M70 out to take over. Volume levels go really low when just touching the volume sliders and the volume and drops in and out, touching the bass slider also affects it. Right VU just stops reacting. Auto stop also stopped working.
Lasonic TRC-931 was brought in, and everything is working beautifully, not a single fault. Irony is that it probably feels the cheapest of the 3.
Have a great day everyone!
