Really heavy even without batteries in it, a metal frame, the battery door in back is all metal--i lucked out it plays beautifully..and it has these Sony APD (?) digital, square speakers---originally I think it was produced just for the Japanese market place...
The only thing it is missing is a carry case with a shoulder strap Sony included with it but---that gives me something to
hunt for----
