Your thoughts on paypal......

I received an email this morning stating that PayPal was requesting my taxID number and or social security number. Now this is due to new IRS rules.

What are your thoughts on this new rule?


I'm going to switch back to money orders. F*ck paypal. They tell you that 94.4 million people use paypal and they make 3% on every transaction. SO, lets say each person sends $100 to someone, paypal MAKES $283.2 MILLION DOLLARS to have an automated system move money from one account to another.

They can eat s*it, I'm done giving money away to companies like it.

You will have to enter your tax info no matter what, but you will only be taxed if you meet 2 requirements per year.
1. 20,00 in gross income
AND
2. 200 transactions


They talk about how many people make money on ebay as a second income, NO S*IT DUMB ASSES - BECAUSE IT ISN'T REGULATED AND TAXED INCOME BECAUSE NO ONE REPORTS IT! That will kill quite a bit of transactions on ebay and paypal, but the government will sure get their money .

PayPal sucks - but it is the only way I can send a payment to the USA from Germany if I don't want my bank to charge me 10% off the sum I send
I cannot send money orders from Germany to America...it just is not possible. And really, Western Union is the biggest pile of sh*t I could think of. Never gonna use that.

In my opinion it is not far away that a service similar to PayPal will come up and get all the customers that used to have PayPal.
It is just a matter of time....or PayPal realizes they screwed up...

I've had a PayPal account for years and have never had to provide an SSN. PayPal has several options for establishing your identity. You can use:

Customer Service PIN
Social Security Number
Credit Card Number
Bank Account

The ONLY reason you would ever need to give PayPal your SSN is if you wanted to withdraw more than $500 per month.

If they are telling you that your SSN is required, then it is more than likely a phishing scam.

I'm a charter eBay member, as well as Paypal. I've never been asked for my TIN. Maybe things are changing but up to now, have not been asked for it.

Be careful with that email, it might not be legit. Certainly, never ever follow any email links. Any business and/or administration should be done by logging in directly. The easiest way to redirect you to a fake website is through disguised email links.

I'm not a fan of ePay or PayFail because in the end they are making a MINT off people. I too am sick to death of all these invading corporations. Death to them all I say!

Little tiny amounts add up to HUGE amounts and with every thing you do that REQUIRES a tiny transaction fee, many of them quickly becoming "Required By Law" (think car insurance) the corporations are lobbying the government to make "Their Industry Mandatory". Penny after penny, nickle by nickle, they will bleed you dry....LEGALLY!

In my new song called WE DON'T coming out on my next record I'm saying "We Need....Separation Of Corporate and State. Keep your boardroom out of my court room, separation before it's to late, keep your boardroom out of my bedroom".

In the US we have in our Constitution: NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION

All I can say is its probably a scam and Paypal is the safest way I know, besides pickup and pay in person, to purchase anything from outside source especially epay......

yes it been known to happen and even paypal says not to give any information like that ,, i have been dealing with paypal for a few years now and up to know have been very helpful even to recover some items that got lost and money back ,, so if i were u i would not give any info remember once u open your account with paypal and as long as u still have your original place that u bank at ,,that info is tied between your bank and paypal so they really do not need any other info so becareful with those phishing email there are a dime a dozen,, i even get from time to time some email from my bank stating they are stutting down my account but they need my info ,,so what i do is forwaed the emails to there scam center..
