Most transparent electronics are that way because prison programs require it, so there is very little likelihood this was/is contraband.

HOWEVER...

Seven out of ten inmates have a communicable chronic disease. The most common is hepatitis.

That is why I would not knowingly purchase ANYTHING a former inmate owned.
