Phishing for high fives...
So on Monday I noticed my washing machine was making a noise that it has never made before. I open the lid and discover that the tub is not spinning (it was on the Spin Cycle)
"that" can't be good I say.
Ever the cheapskate I clikety click start finding forums and diagnose that I need a new drive coupler. Said part is only $20, waaaaaay better than a new machine, so it's worth a try.
In the same forum I read up on why my auger isn't turning (that's the top of the agitator). Hmmmm new cam and dogs? $18... Hell to the yeah!
So I watch two 11 minutes videos and determine, yep I can totally do that.
FFWD to Tuesday, I purchase the parts. SCORE. I replace the cam and dogs in like 20 minutes. Took me longer to clean the agitator once I saw how nasty the bottom was. BAD ASS Didn't even need help from the mister!
So......last night I decide that I shall fix the drive coupler. Move the washer from it's spot of 14 years....NAS-TY! Spent 20 minutes cleaning the floor under and behind the machine. I mean seriously disgusting. I remove the water pump and motor to get to the transmission. AAAWWWW SHOOT, the old drive coupler is in pieces, I'll be damned I DID diagnose the correct problem.
So very stoked now. Took me a few times to get everything lined up so it went back together (I'm practically laying on the floor...all these parts are UNDER the tub). Everything seems cool, only maybe 15 minutes have passed, so I proceed to putting the cover back on the frame.
:annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:
Holy Mary Mother of God! it wouldn't go back on. I am trapped in a 3ft space by a dryer and can't get to the laptop to rewatch the video and Bobby can't get past the dryer to help me.

Bobby brings the laptop and I watch the 2 second bit where the pro just sets in on and viola! His cover is perfectly on. Mine, not so much.
So...I kick it.
And cuss it.
and kick it again.
And scream at it.
About 40 minutes later, I have the stupid thing back on and start a cycle. (fingers corssed please don't explode)
BOO-YA It works! Fixed my washing machine for under $50 with very little assistance. Why?
BAD ASS EXTREME
