good morning to all...yesterday i recieved a call from my service tech reguarding my gf 1000...originally when i got this box the right channel was quiet and after a good cleaning to the volume pot the channel was back but it would cut in and out...also the tape decks did work.. but barley the were very low and really had muffled sound when playing...so after about two days of work straight my guy has completly restored this beautful grail to 100% functional   he fixed both tape decks including two new capstan rollers the old ones were all brittle and cracked ....the entire tape circut was gone through and now the unit sounds great and records  he fixed the circut so now you can put batterys in the unit and take with you...also the volume pot was bad so with some spare parts that i had in my possesion he was able to repair that as well...so overall its like brand new :breakdance: :breakdance: here are the pics of the madd scientist at work....

That's awesome, B.S. Great to hear he was able to get it all functioning again. And you're lucky to have such a talented tech. I haven't had much luck finding guys who are willing to work on my old boxes.

Yea it is so difficult to find a good tech and one that is fair in prices ... I've been paying way to much for repairs... definitely need to find a tech like the one bklyn sound has ....

Can't say much more than what's already been said: awesome family and awesome blaster!

I have a 999 and while not as dialed-in as your 1000, I prefer the sound of my M90 over it - at least for dub. Blasting some King Tubby through both via my FM transmitter, the M90 sounds deeper, louder, and cleaner than the 999. :hmmm: :breakdance:

How does the 1000 stack up against the M90 for you?

Go!

well today I tryed the two to give a comparison..my findings were the m90 has a deeper warmer sound using the same casette tape...but both have a great sound the 1000 seems to carry the sound at higher volume where i had to back the bass down on the m90...but im not really a bass freak .. i prefer a loud puncy type with lots of high's verses those deep low's...in conclusion either box you can't go wrong both will impress you...

Thanks for the comparo!

I love my 999 and M90, but I'm a bass freak, so that might be why I prefer the M90 a bit more. :breakdance:

Go!
