good morning to all....My wife and kids for christmas chipped in on a radio for my xmas present for me
....I was shocked what they had bought
...Usally I recieve a nice bag of coal and the bills for xmas
,but this year is different...I came home from work the other day to a huge box sitting in my living room at first my wife was goint to tourtue me and stash the box until xmas
....but after a few charming words she gave me the ok to open the box...mind you I already knew what it was ....as soon as I opened the box I was like a kid in a candy store
it was packed so well with 8" of bubble wrap and alot of styrofoam it took me about 15min just to get it out safely....so I can finaly say I have my first japanese grail a gf 1000
So the first thing was to change the transformer from the 100 volt to a 110/120 version that i have from a junked 777...so after the install i was ready to power up ....at first i was oh boy I have alot of work to do the right channel was almost silent so after a good pot cleaning i wasable to get the channel back on but stil lwas very staticky...so I took it over to my guy for a service ...where he ws able to repair it for me
still has some issues that will be taken care of as soon as he comes home from vacation and this box will be 100% fully functional. Once I got the box home I took it all apart for a good cleaning ,,,the back and face went into the tub for a good scrub
so after 12 hrs of work its all back together and sound's fantastic...the sound is a very rich and crystal clear .....
here are some pics.....
