WTF, no thread about DEFSONIX?

Haven't seen a thread about Defsonix, so I guess I'll start one. They're a new brand based out of Southern California, owned by a guy named Les. I've met him a couple times at the boombox meets. Here's their website:

They're releasing two models in 2026. First there's the LX2-100, a traditional midsize box made of wood. It's about the size of a DJ Tech, maybe a little less. It features lighted analog VU meters and a 5-band equalizer. It's bluetooth of course, but it's also got inputs for USB drives, TF cards, and line in/out. It's available in a basic black or carbon fiber wrap for $175, or a more elaborate custom wrap for $249.

Here are a couple Instagram reels showing one playing. I can't think of another sub-$200 box that sounds this good.

Their other model is called the Executive, and it's a smooth operator for sure. It's a briefcase-style boombox with 4 speakers, a metal grill, and combination-lock style spinners for adjusting bass and treble. It has USB and 3.5mm Line Input in addition to Bluetooth 5.3. Perfect for the GQ set commuting to work in the big city while keepin' it gangsta.

I was gonna ask if these guys were the ones who made Hip-Hop Trooper's new box, and then I scrolled down and saw the picture. If I come across a good deal, I might have to get one and try it out!

Yeah that's his. And if you click the Instagram links I posted, it shows his playing. Seems to put out very good bass

I appreciate that people are trying to build new BT blasters but I'm over the flat sided wood box with no style. It probably sounds nice. DJ Tech did it right with a stylish plastic molded front panel at least.

Yeah it's tough for a small company to front the injection molding costs that something like that would require
