I like that Koss at the bottom, are those passive radiators at the bottom, or bass ports? or just nothing?

Seems like you've cornered the Panasonic market! You'll love those RX-DTXXX Platinums and the Cobra Tops! Not the loudest but at normal volumes haaaaarrrddd to beat for deep rich sound.

I believe passive radiators- but still a rare box and somewhat of a mystery :hmmm:
That's what I love about late 80s/90's boxes, they had all these ports and holes, and I would dream about the additional bass they produced. But I was always too chicken to take them apart to confirm whether those ports actually did anything. Imagination is often better than reality.

The Late 80's and Early 90's boxes all appear kind of space-age, with strange bumps and ports, same as you afraid to crack em' open and verify. Funny that i will gladly tear apart anything that resembles an i-pod!
Damn dirty digital apes!!!!!!    :-P

Super  . Love your way of collecting. Really good idea to have a representatives of the late 80s and early 90s and to be stuck with that. Im seeing m90 every second minute, so it is really boring for me to see same boomers in every collection.
 for your style.

Thanks stormsven for your kind words, i like to mix 90's and 80's for sure, i just really love the transition from square boxes to almost amorphous pods of the Early 1990's. By the way that's what i call the so called eggs(Panasonic rxdt 707)--mypods!! :-D :-D

Sony cfd101-not the greatest but hard to beat for $4.99, and one of my favorites so far a G.E. #3-5639a with auto reverse and all in perfect working order for $5!
