It seems like there are a lot of people who collect these beautiful peices of history for many particular reasons. From owning something they had as children, or collecting peices of history that changed modern technology. Some collectors like the huge blasters with the flashing lights. Others love the quality and the way they were built back in the day. I particulary love a little bit of everything. I find all of this so interesting from restoration, to customizing your box and the whole life style of being a boom box junky. I really think this is awesome. I still have not had a chance to upload my mint condition Embassy Super Jumbo EM-2800 that I am so proud of, but I would love to see the Arsenal or collection that you all love and cherish! So let's see who's got what!

Thanks eveyone!

Here's an old video of some of my collection.

I've added another 30-40 since this was done, but haven't had the chance to do another video like this one yet.
It's still a nice cross section of what I love and look for in the boomboxes I collect.

I'm writing an examen at the university this saturday - after that I'll finally mount some boards I bought at the wall of my room so I don't have to stack my boomboxes anymore. (I'll probably be selling a few for space reasons as well.) When I've done that, I'll finally make some pics/vids of my whole collection again. Really looking forward to that!

Wow! your guys collection is off the hook! Seems like the Grand daddy of them all is the Sharp GF-777Z, and the C100F, and the M70's are a must. The Disco lite is a beautiful piece as well. Dang looks like I have a lot of searching i'm going to have to do. Ill be heading out to the Philippines next week, maybe ill start there. What do you guys think is a must have in the arsenal? Its looking like the 777, c100f, m90, and m70 so far.......some feed back would be nice :hmmm:

DEFINITELY try to get an M70 next.

The sooner you get one, as new collector, the better a reference point you'll have for sound and size when buying off the internet.

Plus they're the best sounding box in their division by quite a ways.

To be honest,I have so many it would take multiple truck loads and a big parking lot to display all of mine! :-O
I will post a photo or 2 to show my 3-4 deep wall of grails!
It takes time as I have to load to photobucket and I don't have regular
Internet right now! :-/

M70, M70, M70, sheesh...I prefer the sound quality of my Blockbuster to my M70 - granted my M70 looks like it fell off a truck doing 65.....but that said, my blockbuster looks like it was submerged in a creek for the better part of a year so its an even match :hmmm: The m70 is just so damn finicky with those god-awefull slider knobs. Give me a good twist pot for controls damnit!

Unless you have super repair and solder skills make sure you get a NIB M70 IMO. She's a delicate little monkey :-P

The Blockbuster is a beautiful box, I don't have one yet, but it's been on my list forever (hurts that they were never sold in my country)

As a NEW collector though, having an M70 is invaluable for size and sound comparisons to other boxes. If I had an M70, which I do, I now know the Blockbuster is at least comparitive in sound to the M70. There are lots of boxes out there that look 10 times better than the M70 but sound 10 times worse.

The M70 is the ultimate reference point for comparisons to virtually every other box, that's why a new collector needs one in my eyes if they want to avoid disappointment in buying other radios that they can't inspect themselves personally prior to purchase.
