Thinking of making some videos, instructional. Thinking to do it in multi-angle via picture-in-picture or side/side format. For example, maybe show adjusting a pot and it's effect on say, the stereo LED lamp in real time.

Anybody know what it would take in terms of hardware or software? Cheap or free is best. Not interested in investing big $$'s in instructional videos. Also, if it involves 18 complicated steps using 6 different software/utilities, and days or weeks of time -- forget it. I'll never be able to follow along.

So... anything like that available now or do I need to wait until the 22nd century?

How good does it need to be? Any of the better smartphones would do a good enough job capturing the video, unless you want Hollywood quality. As for the special effects you described, it should only require one good software app.

Remember, I need real time multi pane video so I would need to have several cameras going simultaneously. Sort of like a video security system. So smartphone probably is not the way to go.

There is software that is relatively simple to use such as Sony Vegas or Pinnacle Studio. Easily bought at Best Buy... Your shaarp enough to invest the relatively low coin for either and take a little time to learn it. I use Pinnacle Studio (an older version) and it's easy enough. :-)

I've been using Sony Vegas since 2009 and know pretty much everything there is to know about it. I'm also very familiar with Adobe Premiere Pro.

There you go!

Learn from our young member here. These youngsters are masters of games, videos, phones and all. So hard to keep with them on newer gadgets.

I know these young folks are way ahead of us in many ways. I always listen to our little generation. No wonder my boys treat me like their buddy.

Be proud!
DKVII You will be helping the Boombox Genius Norm . :-)

I'm pretty bare bones in that list then. I don't play games nor do I own a phone.

But I will be glad to help in any way I can! :-)
