i am surprised you could find a 96 volt controller ??
thought 48 was about the max

do you think you 'sploded --since the controller could not handle
the 48 to 96 jump ??

they got controllers now that go up to 120 volts.
ebikes are pretty popular here in van.

yes i did overload the controller but i wasnt running the 48 volt controller with the bigger power.
i was running a seventy two volt crystallite controller.
my motor is made in germany and is pretty cool. its actually a motor from a company that makes motors for a frame hard drives.
its dc and brushed. i have been thinking about pulling it apart then using it with just one of those 120 volt rechargeable power supplies.

down hill i hit seventy miles a hour on this bike and i will tell you that it was pretty much the scariest thing i have ever done.
its a bicycle after all.

I had an FJ1200 years ago which was pretty cool, I loved the feel and power of that bike.

I've been pedaling more than twisting the throttle lately. I have a 1978 Honda CB750 F2 thats now a 836cc cafe. It's been unassembled for a while though. Right now My bike is in the "shed" aka a large utility closet in my apartment in peices.
But It will come together again in like new condition with all around better performance.,
Here are some very crappy pics the only few I have of it sort of complete. I have a huge thread of my teardown and rebuild on the Honda SOHC forum. It shows all the new parts I replaced and detailed instructions on how to do certain thngs like remove head bearings, bushings, removal of the motor, etc. Good stuff if your into DIY tinkering.

My other bike is a single speed / fixed gear bicycle.
An 88' Schwinn Premis road bike that I converted. a few years ago I love it, it's light (prob 15-16lbs) and fast as all hell.
I can't find any photos of it, but heres an "as is" drawing of it LOL! Oh, I since then changed the front wheel to a Shimano areo wheel. so the OE silver Wienmann is gone. I'll get photos later today.

Yeah the Honda single over head cam 4 was the dawn of the sport bike era., They are the grandaddy's of all the crotch rockets you see today.
Mad Max was def. an inspiration, along with this custom HD bike. I now have the frame powdercoated gold with big flakes like this bad ass!

I you liked your older FJ1200 ,You should ride the FJR once,it ROCKS!
I like it more than the Honda ST1300 I traded in,and I loved that bike.

My wife loves here Majesty.
We were looking at a Suzuki Burgman400 too when we decided on the Yamaha.
The Yamaha is quicker and the build quality feels/looks better than the Suzuki. (IMHO)
I've always liked Honda's and Yamaha's.
