I know we had something like this a while ago on S2G but I thought it would be kind of cool to rehash it on Boomboxery.

You didn't think he meant ten speeds did you?
Ten-speed bikes are for sissies. Real dogs don't ride anything with less than 21 speeds.

 Haven't had one of those in a very long time but I think my mountain bike has 21 speeds.

My flabby arse could probably use a ten speed but I haven't ridden a road bike in so long I'm not sure I could. ;-) :-D

big red in 40 mph trim and running on 48 volts.
unfortunately speed addiction caught up to its owner and he decided to go for another 48 volts on the back rack for a total of 96 volts. down hill i hit seventy miles a hour on this bike and i will tell you that it was pretty much the scariest thing i have ever done.
its a bicycle after all.
the good
the bike was super fast in fact there wasnt too many times from about 0 to 30 where anything could pass it.
it had so much torque it was pretty wild.
i could even smoke the back tire on it with the front brake locked. something that realy freaked out people who saw it.

the bad after several months of fun at the new power, i was riding it home one day and the battery freaked out and nearly exploded two cels burst and there was smoke pouring off it like crazy. what a stink.
its was pretty scary . i managed to toss the rear cel off the rack and

the really crappy deal was the controller fried and bike has sat ever since. i gotta get her going again but lately dont seem to have the interest.

quite a story . bill - :w00t:

i am surprised you could find a 96 volt controller ??
thought 48 was about the max

do you think you 'sploded --since the controller could not handle
the 48 to 96 jump ??
