Call me old fashioned, but I was raised to stand up, remove any hat, place your hand over your heart, and gaze upon Old Glory when the national anthem is sung at an event. I didn't see much of that in the video I saw. And... why do females feel a need to diva-fy everything they sing?

I thought it was a wonderful arraingment, especially with the dramatic phrasing at the end. Wonder who wrote it, and I SURELY would like to have heard it live w/ the band as originally planned.
What I saw on Youtube was people in uniform saluting, people standing at attention, people holding their hands over their hearts, all just the usual suspects.

At least she didn't go all Celine Dion and wave her arms & pound her chest...

I did not see the original performance of the inauguration but as soon as
I saw her singing on a news clip before they even said what it was about
I said:"She's Lip Syncing"!! :nonono:
I have to say it's just another thing to show how untalented and disrespectful
she is and her husband I might add. There's nothing original
about any of their music, music clips, samples, mixed up crap.
I am saying I've been around alot of musicians and I have to say about
Beyonce, she looks great but has to force her voice to sound ok!
But for God's sake can't people be real when singing the National Anthem
at a presidential inauguration!!!!!! :nonono: :-O
I'm disappointed, disgusted, and quite pissed about this lack of patriotism and respect for our countryin our
Country!!!!!! :annoyed:
There enough said! :sadno:

You are absolutely correct. And though she may be talented, I would take Minnie Ripperton, or any combination of The Emotions any day over her. There was real talent then without all the "engineering" help due to the limits of technology.

I once heard the term a "Wow those older groups had a face made for radio..." My reply was "And that's why you don't know what good sounding is. If you spent less time "watching" the music and tried "listening" you'd know why those older groups are sampled and still relevant today.
