Which boomer goes the loudest and what would you say has the best sound quality?

I couldn't begin to answer this but I know a lot of people on here have heard or owned an awful lot of blasters at some point. I don't even think we have national meets here in England so the opportunity to compare models isn't possible.

It is a very hard question for a straight answer.

Loudness- It is related to sound pressure and how long you listen to it, or duration.

There are several loud boxes in the boombox category. Conion C-100, JVC M90, Sharp GF777 all fall in this.

For quality of sound? It is again very subjective to the listener.

I would go with JVC M70, Panasonic RX7700, and JVC M90. Panny RX7700 quality is SUPER!
A well kept M70 (like new) also will top any other boombox. It is my opinion.
Poor me! I look like I am in the early forties but I am getting old ( mid fifties) and my ears are not good anymore. :nonono: :nonono:
Lots of miles on the ears and liver (bourbon effects) ..

My opinion is if we are talking all blaster including 3pc and up units I think the best sounding of mine is the Telefunken Studio 1. It sounds and feels more like a HiFi unit. For single units the Conion C100 is the loudest but M90 has best sound quality but the Sanyo Big Ben is real close to M90 in sound. I think everyone though has formed there own opinions over the years of collecting

For best sound quality you are going to need a 3-piece box. The Telefunken Studio 1 smokes the M90 and any other 1-piece box when it comes to true sound quality. It's also a great looker....sweet old-skool metal styling with big knobs & meters.....the only let down is the crude tape deck with fragile plastic keys.

As for loudness, that's different from sound quality. How loud do you need it to be? Unless you plan to take them outdoors often, it's not a concern. Plus there are many "loud" boxes that are only average in sound quality. The GF777 is one, in my opinion.

If you want loud AND great sound quality, go for an M90, or maybe a Conion C100 or a Clairtone 7979.

If you don't have that kind of money, and only have $100 or so, get a GE 3-6035 or a Universum Super 16000, they are the best bang for the buck of any box, IMHO. Clueless sheep pass those boxes up.

As for best-built, best materials? Panasonic RX7700, 7200, 7000, Sanyo MX920 and M9994.

I would say that the best combination of loudness, sound, and build quality is the M90. But you have to like its looks.

All the choices these guys stated in they're posts are pretty spot on. But to me it all depends on what you want the box for. For the streets I'd go with a big gun like a C-100 or the GF-777 or even an M90 (due to an M90's value I wouldn't run around town with one). For home listening any 3 piecer will do the job like Telefunken's M1 or my personal favorite my Sharp GX-33. Small good sounding boomer for say like a dorm room or small bedroom I like the Platinum series Panasonic's. They give an amazing all around sound with astonishing bass that leaves a grin on your face. Kabooms are cool too. The list is endless. This can go on for ever with personal opinions. You'll just have to make your own assessment.
