Which boombox is the most powerful

I don't think JVC made their own amps. Most boomboxes use Toshiba, Panasonic, Sanyo, Philips, Hitachi, Rohm, or NEC amps.

In fact even the ones that did make their own chips didn't always use them in their boxes. For example there's a few Sanyos that use Rohm chips instead of their own. Just depends who they could get the best deal from.

So I was playing my 4 ohm Sony speakers through the 6ohm jvcpc55 fairly loudly while cleaning around the house and the boombox eventually just went dead. No power when the main power button is pressed. I thought I smelled a faint burning smell through the top vents. Did I damage my amp or hopefully just blow a fuse or something? Thx.

STK in the Sony fh-3 and fh-33
I have the FH3, FH5, and FH7... the FH7 is a totally different beast and much higher power than the other 2, but does require a separate amp module if using batteries.

Is it too late to say, don't do that? Yeah, fuses typically don't smell burnt when blown. People on here constantly play around with using lower impedance speakers. Unfortunately, there's a reason for the expression FAFO, and when you play with fire..... you may get burnt.
