Thank you. And another surprise I learned is that the amps in this jvc are actually designed by Panasonic. And they do have some impressive low bass response. That's the total power consumption for L and LD versions.
Look at page 3 of this service manual and compare the values for power output and power consumption
I never knew that. So even stock boomboxes are DIY boomboxes.I don't think JVC made their own amps. Most boomboxes use Toshiba, Panasonic, Sanyo, Philips, Hitachi, Rohm, or NEC amps.
Do you know what brand amp is in the sony cfd770?In fact even the ones that did make their own chips didn't always use them in their boxes. For example there's a few Sanyos that use Rohm chips instead of their own. Just depends who they could get the best deal from.
Thank you. Out of curiosity, do you know which boombox amp is the most powerful ever used in a boombox?Sanyo LA4620
Interesting. Thx for that!! I figured one would say the kaboom since it’s known for its powerful bass.Pioneer CK11 probably

Do those Sony FH boomboxes use Sanyo amps too?Kaboom only makes about 42 watts RMS. The Pioneer and certain Sony FH models make almost double that.
I have the FH3, FH5, and FH7... the FH7 is a totally different beast and much higher power than the other 2, but does require a separate amp module if using batteries.STK in the Sony fh-3 and fh-33
Is it too late to say, don't do that? Yeah, fuses typically don't smell burnt when blown. People on here constantly play around with using lower impedance speakers. Unfortunately, there's a reason for the expression FAFO, and when you play with fire..... you may get burnt. So I was playing my 4 ohm Sony speakers through the 6ohm jvcpc55 fairly loudly while cleaning around the house and the boombox eventually just went dead. No power when the main power button is pressed. I thought I smelled a faint burning smell through the top vents. Did I damage my amp or hopefully just blow a fuse or something? Thx.
