I am new to this society I've owned a JVC M-70 when i was youth. I just recently purchased my 1st Boombox in about 20 years. I got an awesome Embassy Super Jumbo EM-2800 from another member here from San Jose Ca. Awesome guy , very informative. I am looking for other members in the Bay Area that I can Network with to help me do some custom work, or maybe lead me in the right direction of finding my other Dream Boom Boxes that I would love to own.

Thank you guys very much

@ Lasonic TRC-920 BTW that was an awesome EVH tribute build, that was great how you documented the whole project from start to finish. As for me this is the very first time seeing all of these beautiful pieces of artwork. And I must say it gives me the chills to see what I remember as a youth all re incarnated again. It started off for me wanting to search that M-70 from my childhood that was taken away from me. I missed a couple of opportunities, and but end up purchasing a EM-2800 from Buck50 here in the Bay Area. And he told me that their are other enthusiasts just like me who collect these beautiful pieces of art. So here I am at 04:14 am not able to sleep thinking about that m-70 that got away....but still great full for being introduced to this new society with Stereo Junkies just like me!

so how do you get the boomboxes those colors ?
do you take them apart and have an autobody shop paint the parts
and re-assemble the boombox ?

seems risky to me ! lol ... yet they do look great !

...I personally strip down and paint all my custom boomboxes. The first one was risky because I had no clue what to do but it turned out good anyway. Now I have customized more than 20 boomboxes and have a system that works very well with great results. The painting is the easy part, the sanding, prep, and taping are the hard part. Luckily there are quality spray paints available to make the job look very professional.
