:-/ I know this has been discussed b4,on the 'other site', i really relied on my tv boxes especially here in so fla during hurricane season, ever since i've lived in florida,i have gone thru a hurricane, more then two dozen storms in that time. Including Andrew, iirene,Katrina, wilma, dennis and on and on.Weird now June 1st marked the start of hurricane season,it'll be weird these analog tv bbxs and port analog sets are basically an ornament
You guys in other areas have u kept yours or tossed em away :-/ Just realized i didn't clarify this post has to do with the hd digital tv upgrade, duh! D'oh! ;-)

I've always wondered how difficult it would be to "future-fit" one those old TV boxes with a new mini LCD screen and digital tuner. That would be kick-ass!!

jared -- did you say 'ormaments' ????

well - sh1t !!!!!!!!!!!!
i used to collect those little 1 1/2 - 2 " old CRT sony watchmans and panny travelvisions --
even have some tube minis in COLOR !!!

like more than 50 !!!!
i loved em all --
and KEPT em all --

just couldnt sell them to people --knowing they would all be useless someday soon
:'-( :'-(
so now i am stuck for life with 50 +++++ornaments --

many do have an 1/8" aux antenna jack --so with a cable -- they will still work :-)

but as 'hurricane' portables -- they are USELESS !!! :sadno: :sadno:

 exactly ira...
which is what i used mine for,my panny and my emerson have jacks, but who wants the cables running all over the place,it's cool for the patio or deck or such, but for the beach, ballgame or hurricanes, useless

I wonder why they couldn't come out with very low power transmitters to get video from, perhaps, your P.C. to your TV box.At least this could make them useful.

Once upon a time, I thought maybe I'd sell my cool Quasar XF-1239 to help fund my retirement. Now I figure my wife will just toss it into the ground next to me (batteries and all) when I finally bite the big one. RIP big black TV beauty! :-/
