"Cassette tapes, Lad - CASSETTES!. Anyway, in those days, we had to go ALL THE WAY to a SHOP - ON A BUS! - to buy with our hard earned cash - "

"Cash??? Wotz that? Y didn't you just download a kassete like normal from Spotify? Is 'Kassete' like Spotify?!"

"Shut up and LISTEN!!!" Anyway, once we'd bought our cassettes, we had to come ALL THE WAY back home - ON A BUS AGAIN! - and PHYSICALY INSERT the cassette in the Boombox, BY HAND - "

"I still don't get wot 'broombocks' is......!

"SHUT UP AND LISTEN (dear me!).....we had to WALK all the over to the BOOMBOX to put the tape in - MANUALLY, turn the switch - BY HAND! - "

"Cor, you still had switches in those days?"

"Jeez, do you want to learn something worthwhile or not? BE QUIET! Now, where was I? Oh yes......MANUALLY check the Funtcion/Selector switch was set - "

"Wot? Didn't it just autotune?"

"Ye Gods, Lad, let's start from the beginning - THIS HERE is a BOOMBOX!"

"Uggerly!!! It's more like Ye Olde Telephone Exchange!"

"ARGHHHH - I'M GOING DOWN THE PUB!!!"

I daren't tell kids these days that we used to wash the dishes, BY HAND - ONE AT A TIME!!!

They just wouldn't believe ya!

Still do. Just got doing a huge stack as the wife made a cake. Oh, and also have manual windows in my car. Keeps me buff!

6 Channels ? ! ! We only had 4 and one was French, and we weren't, LOL.

And, as you said, as kids, WE were the remote !

4? By eck, you were LUCKY!

Mind you, we had no time for TV's in those days! Before we could even walk we were sent up the chimneys before we woke up, using what little hair we had as the brush...................and we were GRATEFUL!!!

I was listening to my walkman in work the other day and one of the girls, around 20 years old said "what the f is that?", i showed her, she said "thats the first time i've ever seen a tape".

Immeadiately felt really old....
