I have a disco lite that has spray paint all over it  and I'm wondering what to do with it

The gold around the speakers has been cleaned but still has paint marks, if I clean it much more the gold finish will start to come off
There is paint all over the body, I have used warm water & dish soap, didn't do much. I tried Novus #2, not much, Novus #3 cleans it off

My problem is the amount of time it will take to clean the entire front with Novus #3 then the other two stages to reduce the swirl marks left by the #3 polish.

So my questions are
What other sort of cleaner should I try or is it a better idea to paint the box again? If I was to repaint should I go black or maybe a custom paint job? would it be an idea to use gold leaf to redo the speaker frames?

Any helpful input is appreciated

I would make her an all black matte blinky monster. I doubt that you can clean it to the original state. But many times i was hoping to find already painted or scratched boomer so not feeling guilty when i will paint :-P

Try with some grease remover for ovens. Something like this: http://www.daxon.co.uk/powerful-gre...ing-pans-or-saucepans.htm?ProductId=612407940
You should start on some little part of corner to see the reaction.
Apply a few drops of the remover and rub with a soft brush shortly, then wash with water. Repeat the process several times.
I have already trying with such remover and sometimes it work, depending on the type of paint and dirt.
I hope this will helps.

Fine water sand the gold surfaces back to silky smooth & then put a sweet pearlescent gold on the rings, etc. & a matte black or semi-gloss on the rest of the case except, of course, the control panel itself. IF those boxes are worth over a grand easy, you can afford to have it done professionally by a body shop with a plastics or vinyl guy who preps & paints interior panels & headers for a living. Probably cost a c note to have it done pro. You can back tint pearl in so many different ways & make it BLING off the HOOK, SON!!! :-D

I like the idea of a semi-gloss or satin finish. I bet that would look sweet.

The gold is already quite worn. Your best results will be to repaint it, in which case, the burden to keep it orginal is lifted and I would encourage you to free and express yourself. It may look awesome in some cool color. As for the gold, metallic paint is available and the results are not bad. The issue is that they are not very wear resistance. Saving grace is that the speaker trims are behind the grill and should be well protected from stray fingers which could introduce wear to the new soft metallic finish.

The gold singwriters self adhesive stuff I used on the TC-999 before I refinished it is the perfect gold for a DiscoLite
I have every intention of the removing the gold stuff I currently have on mine and replacing it with that stuff.
It's made for external weather used and it totally reflective.
Just need to pop the facsia off, get her sprayed up with a few coats of satin black.

A respray and a pro application of this stuff and she'll look like new, Matt!!!

Only too happy to get her done up for you!!

Rock On.
