So there was a topic just recently about Telefunken Studio 1's. Well I got to thinking about rare and hard to get boxes like the Telefunken that don't come up for sale to often :hmmm: at least here in the US. I thought this may be a great post to find out who has the rare boomers :-D I will start off with the ones I have that I believe to be rare. Then you guys can also post up yours with pics. Then we can see what the rarest of these vintage boxes are :angelic: I have the....
1. Telefunken Studio 1
2. Technics SA -C07
3. Fisher PH480
4. Fisher PH492
There are a few more I consider to be rare, at least here in the states
5. Crown CSC850
6. Crown CSC950
7. Sanyo M9998K

I don't have many boxes, but these are among IMO my rarer boxes

This one kills me...its a sears 2199. You'd think there would be literally TONS of these I mean its Sears? I haven't seen one yet on the bay.

And perhaps the crown, although I've seen a few sold

I would´t consider the Crowns or the Hifi Studio 1 as rare, at least in Germany. It´s more difficult here to get a Conion or a Lasonic.

But I think this one is pretty rare here and there:

It´s an Adyson 4121 and it sounds pretty good too. :stereo:

:agree: here in US Lasonics are a dime a dozen, but I have only seen one Telefunken on eBay in over a year, come to think of it crown has only come up a couple times too

I got the 492 from member Tha Fuzz
Well I say the Crowns are somewhat rare because they don't show up on eBay in states very often :hmmm: I have seen maybe a handful of them in the last couple years. I just got my 850 from Max in Germany and its a 220v only box

These are my rarest boxes... I consider these rarer than others I have due to how hard they are to find here in the UK
Also, checkout the Crown 950 with green top section AND power button with extra function switch on the left, I have never seen one of these before anywhere.

Probably my three rarest boxes would be:

SK909 - I have seen a few of those for sale but not very often after all.
RX7200 - I believe these were only made for the domestic Japanese market so I doubt there are more than 10 around in Germany
CONION CityBoy - The only one in silver I ever saw in my whole life. :-O

Hard to tell what's rare. I got four and a half Hifi Studio's for example  But they ain't rare at all over here.
Same with the CSC-950, they are on ebay Germany all the time, I never got one though.

My Crown CSC-350 and my Pioneer SK-909 should count as rare (anywhere). Conion C-126? Or Toshiba WX-1?

My C-126 is probably rare, just because it's rebranded as SHOGUN..

My Superscope (Marantz) CRS-3504 is very rare. I have not seen anywhere for sell except the one from hifitom before about 2 years.
Also, I can not find any more details on the internet about this unit.
It is very heavy for its size

Only ever seen one other than mine come up on epay.
I bid and lost that one.
