Hey guys spotted this 3 piece on a local website looks pretty cool i like the colours and im starting to like the appeal of oldskool 3 piece units more now but the ad just says its a Pioneer and nothing else, and i can't make out any model numbers etc in any of the pics.
if anyone knows what this is, can you say if its worth it or not? sound wise. as it needs re foaming and new belts.

Tshorba first gave us a heads up on this unit months ago. It was more expensive then. It's been steadily coming down in price and now it's almost a steal. I have been eyeing it off myself a bit but secretly hoping someone will pick it up and give it what it needs. It's SO rare! At that price you shouldn't say no. Just get it refoamed and listen to the glory.

thanks for the reply ledmeter, i did abit of searching and found that its a CK-11, found a thread Fatdog posted here when he got one, looks like a fair beast with the extra power amp, if its as good as it seems then for that price i should jump at it :)

All worth getting. Especially that smaller version in the left. It's a mid size radio with the some of the best sound I've ever heard from a boomer. IMO opinion these units have the best bass of any other radio. Even beating out the platinum series panny's. It even edges out my GX-33 in the bass department. Good luck and congrats with it when you get it.

Jump for it!

It's an awesome unit! Best sounding Pioneer with ribbon tweeters!

I believe the lower part is a big display. Is it true?

It is not CK-11 or CK-7.

The display in front is very rare!

I believe these were configurable in different ways, some like the original post photo had a storage compartment on the bottom, the first pic I posted has the tape deck on the bottom and a reverb unit above it, I think there was also a amp that was available.

Can't remember the guys name who had these, he is from Detroit I think and is probably the expert on these, I think he re-foams the speakers as well.
