After hearing how nice these units are for a long time, I finally picked one up.. I like it!
Its really clean cosmetically and everything works: VU's, tuner light, Tape functions, Radio, Line-in..
I'm guessing it came from an Estate sale because it looks like it was taken care of and has a slight pipe tobacco smell.. Gonna give er' a good detailing!
Kinda bummed it isn't in bad shape, would've given me a reason to paint it!
But, fortunately/ unfortunately it only has a slight scratch to the right of the right woofer..
I am officially riding on the bandwagon! Sound is awesome, tape plays as good as radio!

no hype about the m70, just in your face raw power and one of the best boxes you can get for its size.

I liked the build quality and sound of my JVC 828 which I sold, and been loving my 550.. so, I figured the M70 can't be bad at all.. especially since everyone raves about em! :-D

You won't see me getting a Kaboom or Altec Lansing any time soon though...

Thanks guys, been listening to both sides of the mixtape that Fresh Produce made a while back.. I gotta get used to the tape buttons, they seem backwards to me..?

Just like you I bought it because so many people raved over it. It was never on my "Must Have" list...but I sure was happy to get it. These are amazing units. Was listening to mine last night. These things rock!

Your's looks sweet too :-D

Uh oh. Does this make me the last of the hold outs?
No. I'm still looking too and will take my time to find the best I can get rather than doing my usual: Diving in wide-eyed and finding that loads of work is needed to get it running properly.
Annoyingly, I travelled all the way across to a village by Dumfries a few days ago (80 miles) because someone from one of the car clubs I'm associated with had told me that there was a good M70 about to be sold at a village roup.
I then learned that the desirability of these things is spreading far beyond the www as I bid it up to £180 and was unopposed in the room. Turned out that the seller had placed a reserve on the set and they weren't interested in having a private deal with me.
It was a nice looking box too, only really needing one of its FM/SW aerials fixing to make it somewhere close to showroom fresh. :evilmad:

I'm not a big FLAG WAVER for the M70, but you won't be let down. This thing SHREDS 80% of all radios hands down.
