We had a little parade yesterday...

I decided to cast aside my responsibilities and take a little trip down the Orange Line to catch a glimpse of some World Series Champs. It was a beautiful day, especially for November, and we had a blast. My buddy from NH came down with his son, who was born in '05, so he was too young for the parade in '07. He had a blast too, and was very popular at the Bell In Hand (an ancient watering hole, for those who don't know the city). I haven't missed a championship victory parade for any team since the Patriots won the Super Bowl in '01, and I wasn't going to miss this one.

It was so much fun and the atmosphere was so electric I had to share it here (and elsewhere). :hooray:

My best bud, Dave with his son, Davey Boy! This kid was a "lady killer!"

...And this guy was in such a hurry to get to the parade that he forgot about low tide, only tethered off with one rope with a horrific knot, and didn't throw out a single fender against the granite wall. The Harbor Master is going to be none-too-pleased.

So that's what those look like...    Two rings? :hooray: :hooray: Sounds like your fan base just qualified a couple of players at least for Cooperstown. Every freakin' Red Sox home game I've been to up here you guys pull in 10-15,000 fans. That includes the '79 All Star Game where I sat next to the two loudest, I think. We're still just technically a legal settlement, a yearly disaster in waiting.

Before '05 you guys had a little, teensy-weeny clue what it must be like to be a lifelong Seattle baseball fan. There hasn't been one of those up here my whole life!

Well played! :hooray: :hooray: You guys rock & the Yankees still suck!

Back in '07 I was dropping off a disposal payment for the company I work for, and just so happened upon the '07 trophy! Yes, at the dump.
Turns out, the owner is good friends with some Sox security "big-wigs" and they were stopping by to show off the trophy. The guys insisted I get a pic holding the trophy, otherwise no one would believe me when I tell the story.
Man, the things you find at the dump...

I wish my grandfather could have lived to see the Sox win. He was born in Boston and rooted for them his whole life. He passed in the late 90's so he never got to see them win. He was born in 1919.

I dedicate this championship to Francis Kenney!

Nothing can compare to the win in '04. One memory that's burned in my mind is my mom and my grandmother holding full glasses of wine, standing 3 feet from the TV, with tears streaming down their faces after the Game 4 win for the Series.

We take all our sports pretty seriously around here.

For our parents and grandparents it's such a big deal. They wanted allot longer than we did to see that win! I agree, the 04 was the biggie. To break the curse after all these years.
