Hi all,

I have just been given a couple of boxes of vinyl (12" LP's and 7" stuff) from the 60's. I know ABSOLUTELY nothing at all about vinyl (or no way to play any of it) !

There seems to be a lot of country music, and some other mixed music (Classical, a few Rolling Stones, a Beatles one, The Who etc..).

I want to get shot of it - what's the best thing to do - ebay the stuff I think might be worth a bit (individually), and then job lot the rest?

I have no idea what's rare and what's not, so no idea on values. Anything in particular I should be looking for? How can I tell if something is first press?

Views welcome!

Hi Ewen,

I'd start by looking up each title separately on ebay. If you see any out of whack prices, then you know you may be sitting on something special.

Maybe try to sell a few individually. At that point, you may find that the few $$ you make selling the stuff individually isn't worth your time and do the entire lot.

If any of it is music you like, you may decide its worth you while to start looking for a cheap turntable instead of selling them. You can always sell after you record.

Good luck!
