that amx is a fast car. it used to be run in ten second trim but he has toned it back a bit and no longer runs nitrous.
its a really loud car on open pipes

it was pretty cool. i have been going to this event for a long time tho. allthough it is not as much fun as when i would go with my old buddy richard who died tragically a few years back.
its pretty fun to be out there even as a spectator and not part of a car running.
allthough i did love being part of the crowd on the other side of the fence too.

some of those cars pulled some nice wheelies off the line, was that a 1/4 or 1/8 mile track?

its a full quater mile track.
some of those gassers went over 210 in the quarter and they were crazy fast.
last year that had a top fuel chevy funny car 57 style do a 240 mph pass.
its a pretty nice little facility they have out there and well i dont know why theres no really big events up here but this is a really fun weekend there.
the end of this month there is going to be jet cars and wheel stand exhibition rides.
i think i might check it out.

Awsome pics Bill. Now you're talking my language too. I used to attend the 'Famoso Raceway' in Bakersfield,CA. every year where they still race real 'door slammers' there too. And they still drag nostalgic Front engine Dragsters. I always wanted left there smelling like burnt rubber and fumes. :sin: :sin: :sin:

bakersfield brings back some crazy band memories brother.
playing a show there in a place called menoz gym in the middle of a boxing rink. well back to the drag racing. it was intensely fun there this weekend a bit hot well in fact really hot for this time of year.

its pretty hard to go fast for cheap nowadays.
i guess the time has indeed arrived where pretty much any rear wheel drive v8 beast is fodder for the drag strip.
i dunno when you think about some of the cars we have owned and how much they go for now it is kind of sad indeed.
it was a really cool time indeed in the sun there yesterday. so many kinds of old cars trying to go as fast as they could go. pretty neat.
